Mountain Legacy is an album exploring something fundamental to humanity: ISOLATIONThe illusion of silence, which is a natural non-existing concept, is perfectly described by synthetized sounds and noises of the newly acquired band member Claudio Rocchetti (In Zaire). These sounds are missing on the first self-titled release of Deadsmoke, so now the old tracks have been enriched and new ones have been composed providing a consistent psych-disturbed synthetized sound. Six brand new tracks featuring deep guitar fuzz and growling bass take the listener on a journey through the woods, alternating lightly groovy rhythms with sludge-doom cadences. The album has been recorded live by Fabio at NoLogo, a studio located near Bolzano and surrounded by nature and a cemetery. This location and the inspiring recording room, fully covered in wood, carpets and soft lights, made it possible to arrange the recording as a sort of inspired jamming session, providing feelings of isolation, freedom and nothingness.Everybody experiencing isolation and solitude on the mountain knows that the mind is constantly speaking. With a language made of noises. And the mountain itself is speaking. With a language made of slow, deep, grating, growling movements. IT'S HIGHLY unlikely that you'd have wagered that a former member of early seventies hard rock band Spooky Tooth would resurface later that decade with a major selling solo album and an all persuasive, soft rock, hit single 'Dreamweaver'. It was a remarkable achievement and one that elevated Gary Wright to a new audience, allowing him the space to develop a solo career that continues to this day. Born in the USA, Wright moved to the UK and joined Spooky Tooth at the suggestion of Island records Chief Chris Blackwell. It was a match made in heaven but, as these things often pan out, the band's commercial appeal waned, leaving Wright with little choice but to return to the USA and contemplate a solo career. Securing a recording deal with Warner Brothers records, he set about taping a series of demos with just keyboards and a synthesizer. This combination of instruments produced a fascinating sound and one that he continued to pursue on the finished record. 'The Dream Weaver' album was issued in 1975 and spawned the enormously successful us #2 hit single of the same name. It was an instant classic and a song that continues to be heard around the world to this day on radio, TV and in movies. Remarkably, the album also contained a successful follow up hit single, 'Love Is Alive', a similarly structured track built on synths and a funky backbeat. Dig deeper and you'll find the surprising presence of guitarist Ronnie Montrose flexing his considerable muscle on 'Power Of Love'.

Lina Tullgren is from Southern Maine just over the border of the northernmost seacoast of New Hampshire. It's an unexpected location for artistic incubation, but osmosis is bound to occur when you grow up surrounded by family, friends, and weirdos interacting at all times with their own interpretations of creative output. It is on Lina's debut album Won that we reap the full rewards of this newfound confidence in expression and rejection of internal hesitation. "The writing doesn't necessarily get easier, but I feel more comfortable tapping into emotions and going to those places that need to be written about. Won, as it turned out, is the product that I have been hearing and picturing in my head as I write and listen to music." Resurgam – meaning “I shall rise again” – is the hotly-anticipated sixth studio album from Fink: UK-born, Berlin-based founding singer-songwriter musician Fin Greenall, alongside long-time bandmates Tim Thornton (drums, guitar) and Guy Whittaker (bass). It continues an acclaimed and distinctly adventurous catalogue, from the sample-splicing debut Fresh Produce (2000), through to the beautifully heady expressions of their last album, Hard Believer (2014). Resurgam derives its title from a Latin inscription in a 900-year-old church in Greenall’s native Cornwall. Its vital, insistent spirit pulses through the entire album, which was recorded with ground-breaking producer Flood (PJ Harvey, U2, Foals, Warpaint, The Killers) at his Assault and Battery studios in North London. Its ten new tracks were created over two months, a relatively luxurious stretch of time compared to previous Fink albums, resulting in a collection that is both assertive and richly immersive. On the opening title number, Resurgam’s lyrics are deliberately stripped-back, but they also pack a powerful punch, along with a deliciously persuasive deep funk flow. There is revelation and redemption;
Fink’s positive conviction pervades even the darkest sentiments here. Day 22 deals with sobriety and temptation, spiked with Greenall’s characteristic observant wit (“the blood, sweat, tears taste so good”). The lead single, Cracks Appear delivers a headrush of melody, with warmth and candour. On the exquisitely bittersweet Word To The Wise, Greenall lingers over the final notes of a love affair, tenderly accompanied on the piano by Douglas Dare. Not Everything Was Better In The Past feels like a personal awakening, merging sharp reflections and poignant moods. A heavy, resonant bass underpins the production throughout, and a range of new elements are also added to the Fink mix, from Flood’s own vintage analogue synths, to sax (played by guest musician Martin Slattery) layered into the vivid atmospheres and skittering beats of This Isn’t a Mistake. The rhythm guitar hook of Godhead brings out a West African influence, and lends a mesmerising backdrop to Greenall’s rousing vocals. Resurgam is a bold new chapter;
it is also unforgettably Fink: whole-hearted, soulful, irrepressible. Both the CD and 2LP covers have ‘soft touch’ lamination, with the respective booklets on an uncoated art paper.

"The Best Post-Rock Album Of All Time" - Fact Mag // "Their influence is pervasive" - The Quietus // "Mysterious, haunting, and breathtakingly visionary" - Allmusic // Bark Psychosis were one of the most innovative bands of their time and as legend has it, saw the first use of the term 'Post-rock' by music critic Simon Reynolds. Following several singles and EPs, the avant-garde soundscapes built around drones and samples of 21-minute stand-out track 'Scum' arrived just two years before their seminal debut 'Hex' (1994). Their sound was born out of their improvisations at makeshift studio within St John's Church in Stratford.
