Recorded in late 2019/early 2020 with producer Richard Whittaker, Consequence of Time bears the mark of a band leveraging its wide array of influences for an album that goes beyond what fans may expect from Pale Divine. While elements of the band's essential back catalog remain in place on cuts like opener "Tyrants & Pawns" and the title track, it is the free-flowing guitar melody barrage on "Satan in Starlight," the early progressive rock/metal lurch of "Broken Martyr" and the mystical wanderings of "Phantasmagoria" that immediately separates Consequence of Time from previous Pale Divine albums. Not only is there a greater emphasis guitar interplay, Ortt's vocals emerge as the perfect complement to Diener's soulful mid-range, coming to a head on the spiraling closing track, "Saints of Fire." The cover artwork for Consequence of Time was created by artist Brian Tutlo and is the perfect visual accompaniment to an album that, while not conceptual, describes the evolution of the band: Everything changes as a consequence of time. After three studio albums, a live record and an EP in just five years, it was time to keep the band happy. The past few years have flown by: MANTAR has been busy making records and touring, more or less all around the world and the absurd idea of being a "professional band" has surprisingly become real. An incredible journey, more than you could have expected after the debut "Death By Burning" 2014. Nevertheless, after five years in which the band surprisingly became a "job", you had to ask yourself how you could continue to entertain yourself in the future. Treat yourself with good clean fun, without expectations and without fixed goals. The idea of a cover album came just in time. However, it was also clear from the start that no one would need any other loveless covers from Slayer, Sabbath or Black Flag. At least MANTAR didn't need them. The songs were recorded in Hanno's living room in Gainesville, Florida, except for the drums, which where record in a studio in Hamburg to be safe. It was then mixed in the "Black Bear Studio", on eof the cornerstones of the Florida punk scene. MANTAR has always been as DIY as possible when producing their records, but with the cover songs the band wanted to go further in terms of home recording. Even back then, the term "grunge" was as silly as the words "punk" or "heavy metal", so the similar shitty title of the record was quickly found. Being super pros, the first version was deleted by mistake, so the thing now is called "Grungetown Hooligans II". It also sounds a lot "better".

Luzifer, a side project of German thrashers Vulture, were originally formed in Hamm/North Rhine-Westphalia in the year 2009 by Steeler (vocals, bass) and Genözider (vocals, guitar, drums). In 2015 their "Rise" EP was released, followed by "Black Knight" on High Roller Records in 2015. Both 7" singles have been unavailable for quite a few years and are now being re-issued as a mini-album on High Roller Records. According to band members Steeler and Genözider Luzifer have been influenced by Angel Witch, Witchfynde, Ritual, Warlord, old Manowar (circa "Into Glory Ride"), Heavy Load and Mercyful Fate, with a bit of German krautrock thrown in for good measure.
