Someday Jacob's last work was the golden sun of California over the North German lowlands:"It Might Take A While" (2015) contained the DNA of 70s folk rock in many places and lovingly woven several decades of pop music into an unusual work. Melodies everywhere! You didn't even know where to listen first. The work on the song: that's what the quartet is all about: singer, guitarist and songwriter Jörn Schlüter. Not fast key stimuli, not self-staging - and certainly not about being better than the others. Music is not a competition, but a conversation. If it isn't, she feels empty. Everybody knows something good: Everybody Knows Something Good. Someday Jacob went to the city for the new work, which is the third of its kind. While the songs of the predecessor's songs evoked forests and canyons, the sound now becomes more concrete and direct - "Everybody Knows Something Good" is more like a house than a meadow. The songs from the record seemed like a hideout, perhaps a cave or a tree house,"Schlüter explains," but the new songs had something direct, open and clear. We wanted a sound that expresses it." Someday Jacob found the right man for this, as he did last time in Nashville: Rick Rubin sidekick Ryan Hewitt (Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Johnny Cash, Avett Brothers, Angus & Julia Stone) decorated the Grammy set the recordings of the quartet in scene. The master is again from Richard Dodd (Tom Petty, George Harrison). The fact that the cooperation between the continents works quite wonderfully can be heard, for example, in "Slow Down": The song is completely Someday Jacob, but there are associations of the late-seventies-L. A. -sounds mixed in, as Lenny Waronker created it for Rickie Lee Jones or the Doobie Brothers, for example. Hands Of Love ", on the other hand, leads straight into contemporary Americana Nashville, inhabited by musicians like Jason Isbell. And the bittersweet "Your Medicine" evokes the gentle songwriter pop of Josh Rouse and Fleetwood Mac. And again there are melodies everywhere!
