"The Best Post-Rock Album Of All Time" - Fact Mag // "Their influence is pervasive" - The Quietus // "Mysterious, haunting, and breathtakingly visionary" - Allmusic // Bark Psychosis were one of the most innovative bands of their time and as legend has it, saw the first use of the term 'Post-rock' by music critic Simon Reynolds. Following several singles and EPs, the avant-garde soundscapes built around drones and samples of 21-minute stand-out track 'Scum' arrived just two years before their seminal debut 'Hex' (1994). Their sound was born out of their improvisations at makeshift studio within St John's Church in Stratford. Taking a year to complete 'Hex' left the band on the brink of collapse and by the time of its release they had dissolved. Breaking down their songs and rebuilding them in the studio brought distinguishing ambient soundscapes and an atmospheric experimental sound. Last year Fact Magazine deservedly gave the album further recognition with it claiming top spot in their '30 Best Post-Rock Albums Of All Time'. Newly remastered in 2017 from the original analogue tapes at Metropolis Studios by Graham Sutton and Stuart Hawkes, and reissued officially for the first time.

Their reconfiguration from a trio to a two-piece sees them blossoming from the previously cold, kosmische palette found on their debut Measures of Joy into the wider-reaching sound of Forward Constant Motion. " More than anything, we wanted this record to expand in every direction: the poppy parts are poppier, the weird parts are weirder, hopefully". Grapefruit emerges from a cacophony of crackles and hums and drifts in and out of focus, even while clocking in at a lean sub-four minutes. Elsewhere, Miserable World is far more rigid;
with Richards' vocals tied to its jutting, jerking movements. Standout-track, Hammer A Nail abruptly taking off from powerful stomp to high-def escapism. Underpinning much of the record, though, is a sense of the dreamlike or otherworld, the album split up by short, drifting passages where structures melt away. It's a key thematic point which, in-part, arose when Pillay developed Labyrinthitis (a disorder of the inner ear which results in vertigo and disorientation). "The symptoms would often come in spells, so I liked the idea of loosely replicating that feeling with the music. That's why some of the songs stop abruptly or sound as if they are falling apart. I wanted to reflect the fallibility of the human body." As for Richards, the themes of Measures of Joy - the claustrophobia of being stuck in one place figuratively and literally - remain in the background, however Forward Constant Motion offers a mirror in the approaching idea in the freedom and fear of being displaced. On songs like Lily of Youth or Miserable World, such movement is pointed and direct. Elsewhere, as on the wistful murmur of Move On (the group's warped interpretation of late night Lovers Rock tunes) or Sonia and Claudette's early AM stupor it's more uncertain. Then there are tracks, like the glimmering finale Future Body, that focus on the strength of women and female friendship. As Richards explains, the group are acutely aware of misguided perceptions when operating within the paradigm of a male-female electronic duo. It's a record made out of a union that is vital for the on-going evolution of the group. Reduced to their very nucleus, they now sound at their most natural, comfortably processing the boundless ideas that they previously eschewed and shaping them to work, pushing the pair ever further forward.

A playful revisioning of each other's music which began at Metropolis Festival in 2013. The record brings together songs from Rats On Rafts critically acclaimed second album ,Tape Hiss" and De Kift's huge catalogue. The two bands locked themselves up for a month to record a completely analogue album. Together they will play this material live on tour. Instantly recognisable as Rats ,Last Day On De Zon" is shot through with brass - enter De Kift. Dark, dub infused ,Meggy" sees Rats bringing their explosive and unrelenting rolling crescendos. ,Sleep Little Links 2 3 4" is uplifting with the addition of brass whilst folk tinged ,Dit Schip" sees them bring further depth to the collaboration. Energetic and raw, the spirit of their festival performances prevails throughout. De Kift have released music for three decades with father Heijne only retiring in 2013, brothers Marco & Ferry Heijne and cousin Pim remain alongside co-founder and drummer Wim. The nine piece brass ensemble have released eleven albums, collaborated in theatre, film and various media projects which has seen them win a number of Dutch awards across film and music. Both formats have unique sleeves made from recycled LP/CD sleeves, with the front and back cover printed and stuck on to the recycled sleeve. The band have assembled and fulfilled each one themselves.

2LP 5mm single sleeve, art insert, download postcard. Released on Nick Saloman's label Woronzow in 1995, The Bevis Frond's 'Superseeder' arrived after 'Sprawl'. At this point, Nick began releasing albums annually compared with his earlier recordings that would see multiple releases per year. Soaring and melodic rock workouts prevail with a notably strong rhythm section making this record another favourite. Eastern tinged opener 'Superseded', 'I Can't Cry' and 17-minute 'House Of Mountains' are exemplary workouts whilst the garage-punk of 'Dolly Bug' takes a different tone as do 'Golden Walks Of London' and 'Queen Of May' which have more traditional British influences. Playing many instruments on the record, Nick continues here to work with his live band with Andy Ward on the drums, Adrian Shaw on bass and guest second guitarist Bari Watts returns (tracks 6 & 12)
