Fireforce - Annihilate The Evil

The FIREFORCE stage is a real battlefield", the Belgians state with pride, presenting the world with a new album. 'Annihilate The Evil' is the title of the quintet's third album, which, like its predecessor, was also recorded in Kempten's Prophecy & Music Factory Studios under the guidance of Christian Schmid and R.D. Liapakis (Mystic Prophecy). FIREFORCE is without doubt Belgium's biggest and internationally most active power metal band and also fans fans on the heavy metal underground scene. After the great success of the album's predecessor, 'Deathbringer' in 2014, which shook up the scene with its brachial, heavy power metal, they changed down a gear and now take clearly more traditional power metal paths. The band, formed from the remains of the Belgian power metal combo, Double Diamond, has also won a great reputation for its live performances and are almost constantly on the road in foreign parts. They consequently follow the path with 'Annihilate The Evil' and this album is sure to increase their fan following. As far as song material and production go, 'Annihilate The Evil' is definitely more old school style. The sound is warmer, well rounded off and the guitars are less intrusive, being more integrated into the overall sound. The consistently driving material will drive power metal fans along with them. Tracks such as 'Iron, Steel Concrete, Granite', 'The Iron Brigade' and 'Dog Soldiers' are representative for classic guitar duels, tough, crunching drumbeats and melodic yet rough vocals. The hymn-like choruses have a definite fist-in-the-air attitude. Resting to catch your breath is impossible with this album. The string of this bow is constantly at full tension and even the frequently covered Rolling Stones' 'Gimme Shelter' is given the FIREFORCE touch. Starting with the powerful opener, 'The Boys From Down Under', all the Belgians' trademarks and strengths are presented to the listener and the metal flag is kept flying strongly.
