17 years after the “Serenade For The Dead”-album (originally released by Zoth Ommog) Claus Larsen moves back to his passion for instrumental music and soundtracks. “Serenade For The Dead” really was an interesting album as it sounded as a total contrast to the dark-electronics featured on his successful debut releases. Claus Larsen considered his love for writing soundtrack music as a part of himself and the least I can say is that it reveals the genius composer that Larsen is. It seems that many Leather Strip fans also enjoyed this ‘hidden’ side of Larsen and incited him to compose such an album. And here it is, “Serenade For The Dead” part II! The style of this new opus sounds in the vein of the previous album released in 1994 although globally speaking it’s much more sophisticated and refined. Claus Larsen composed a kind of electro-requiem characterized by impressive electro-symphonic arrangements. You get the impression of hearing an entire orchestra playing electronic instruments.
