Peter Mulvey was born a middle-class Catholic city kid in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He began playing guitar onstage in his teens, and was busking on the streets of Dublin, Ireland before he turned twenty. Since then he has been on the road, playing over a hundred shows a year for over two decades, while releasing more than a dozen CDs. Artistically restless, his work draws on many tributaries to the river of Americana. Blues, jazz, rock and roll, and folk all show up, stitched together with with and style, a gruff grace and wicked sense of humor. With SILVER LADDER, Peter Mulvey has found his inner rock-n-roller. Produced by San Francisco great Chuck Prophet, the record is a lean, muscular collection of tightly constructed songs. From its first track, SILVER LADDER brims with confidence and grit.
