NOAH GUNDERSEN - Carry The Ghost

Whispery Seattle singer-songwriter Noah Gundersen has announced he's set to follow up his 2014 debut full-length Ledges with another inward-looking, introspective LP. His Carry the Ghost materializes August 21 through Dine Alone/Dualtone. A press release explains that the sophomore set from Gundersen includes 13 songs that try to determine our "purpose," with the songwriter "searching for answers about the nature of man and the meaning of our relationships." In the end, he apparently discovered that life can be pretty open-ended. "This album grew out of a desire to know myself, to know how I was supposed to live," Gundersen said in a statement. "And in that process, I realized that maybe there is no 'supposed to be.'" The collection was cut at Seattle's Litho Studio, with Gundersen serving as producer and esteemed studio figure Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, Father John Misty, the Walkmen) hopping on the project as a mixer. It's opening track is an airy piano-driven ballad called "Slow Dancer," which, it's explained, is about the healing process following the end of a relationship.
