Local music, reinterpreted: Against right-wing extremism, prejudice and exclusion. The brass band Banda Comunale has been active in Dresden for over 15 years. In doing so, it is uninhibited in the cultural heritage of alien countries and peoples. Their repertoire mainly contains music from the crisis regions of the world: North, West, East and Central Africa, Balkan and Eastern Europe, Middle East, Colombia. In the last two years, the band has made a very special impression on the band. On the one hand, the PEGIDA strolls, and the fate of the many refugees. After more than 40 concerts against PEGIDA and "No to Home" initiatives and for refugees in first-time recording facilities in Dresden and the surrounding area, the band founded the Banda Internationale project together with migrants. The almost 20-strong collective won numerous prizes in 2016 and played more than 60 concerts. With its great aim of reinterpreting local music, the formation wants to open up hearts, to reduce prejudice and resentment, and to contribute to an understanding between new and old Saxons, Germans and Europeans.
