Path of the Goat” is the title of the debut album from Poland, Białystok-based death metal addicts The Dead Goats (featuring members of grindcore act Neuropathia). The record, featuring 10 tracks of oldschool death metal in the vein of Entombed, Dismember and Repulsion, will be released on July 6th via Instant Classic label. “The idea of playing this kind of music came a couple of years ago, during Neuropathia’s European tour”, told ZT the band’s drummer Radek. “The rest is history, fuelled by loads of alcohol and cigarettes. We have different musical tastes but we all sure share love for Swedish death metal. There are also some punk and grind influences on the record. It’s all about booze and Boss HM-2 guitar pedal set to eleven. The title is our homage to the Swedish scene, especially to Entombed, the band that continues to ispire all of us. We sing of horror and gore stories, so it seems like a perfect stuff to shout out at our gigs! “Path of the Goat” was composed and recorded without any obstacles. It took us longer to write the lyrics and figure out how to perform those tracks live. We didn’t want to recycle old Neuropathia songs, so the riffs are fresh. Contrary to what some people may think, The Dead Goats is a fulltime band. There’s no need for side projects since we have so much fun playing this music.
