As on their previous album Oh Yeah Ho, the five French jazzmen land with a swing swing destructured and jubilant to the imagination while Mingusian and dolphyesque. The quintet of the collective Vibrants Défricheurs plays with the codes of jazz to better live and dance. On this A Chicken in a Bottle, the unpredictable trublers break the rhythms, alternating elegant melodies and rhythmic storms. They dip their groovy groove in an imaginary folklore, from Tijuana to Havana via New Orleans. Papanosh is a quintet of musicians who have built themselves together, where everyone can be leader. Solos and fever collective are linked with rare evidence, all with a derision that only great musicians can afford. The brass instruments of the saxophonist Raphael Quenehen and the trumpeter Quentin Ghomari radiate, the rhythmics of the contrabassite Thibault Cellier and the drummer Jérémie Piazza play with our tension, while the B3 organ and other keyboards by Sébastien Palis propel us into the groove of the best Blue years Note. In the middle of this festive cavalcade of original compositions throne a delicate resumption of the title Plain Gold Ring immortalized by Nina Simone in 1958.
