Stallion are a traditional heavy metal band from Germany. Äxl and Paul have been sharing a flat for the last six years. As they were not able to find suitable musicians for their project, the two decided to record their debut mini-album "Mounting The World" on their own accord. Paul was handling the vocals and Äxl played all the instruments on the six tracks. However, Stallion is not a mere studio project. The band is one of the hottest newcomers in German Metal at the moment. Stallion will present their new complete line-up this year when they are playing such prestigious festivals as “Keep It True”, “Metal Assault”, “Hell Over Hamburg” and “Hell's Pleasure” (to name just a few). The opener of "Mounting The World", “Canadian Steele”, is a nod to the New Wave Of Canadian Metal. Stallion are friends with current Canadian Metal bands such as Cauldron, Axxion, Skull Fist and Striker. This does not mean, however, that they're trying to copy their sound. Far from it. “We wanted to cover a wide spectrum of different metal styles,” explains Paul. “And I do think that we have achieved just that,” he continues. “We're just playing the stuff we'd like to listen to anyway. Lyrically, I'm writing about what happens to me in everyday life. That's the inspiration for me”. A superb cover version of Rock Goddess' “Heavy Metal Rock 'n' Roll” rounds off this fantastic mini-album. Stallion already have a solid local fan base here in Germany and with the first mini-album, there's surely no stopping them

The future looks bright for Stallion. They are one of the most promising up and coming traditional heavy metal bands from Germany. The first pressing of the re-issue of their 2014 debut mini-album »Mounting The World« via High Roller Records sold out in no time. No wonder that they took the prestigious Keep It True festival by storm. With 2016’s »Rise And Ride« longplayer Stallion carried on where they have left off with »Mounting The World«. With their second album »From The Dead« it’s now time to show their fans that Stallion are willing to progress without leaving the path of traditional heavy metal... And songs such as “Waiting For A Sign”, “Awaken The Night” and “Underground Society” show exactly that. Vocalist Paul, coming across on »From The Dead« as a cross between Cirith Ungol’s Tim Baker and Klaus Thiel of Germany’s Bullet, explains: “We took our time to work on the songs for the new album. We did not rush things for »From The Dead«. That’s maybe the biggest difference between our first and our second album. The songs evolved over time, and they changed as well. Some quite dramatically so. In addition to that it was more of a group effort this time around. Everybody in the band was involved a lot more in the actual songwriting process.” So it is quite safe to say that overall »From The Dead« is a more mature album in comparison to »Rise And Ride«. There is no reason for Paul to disagree: “That’ for sure, yes. You could say that. With the mini-album, and »Rise And Ride« as well, we had nothing to lose. It was our aim to have a vinyl out and we did not care at all what the scene was thinking about it. I have to stress that this has not really changed with the new album. We still make the music we like. But of course our own quality control has become a lot stricter. So all in all, »From The Dead« might as well be considered a more ‘grown up’ album at the end of the day.” As mentioned earlier, Paul’s charismatic vocals are one of the factors making Stallion sound pretty unique. For him this all comes very natural: “I don’t really reflect about how I am singing. This is my style. A style I have developed over the years, even in bands before Stallion. I do think that my style of singing fits quite well with the music Stallion is playing. I never copied singers of other bands, it just feels natural to me. And this is probably how it will stay, I can’t see myself changing my style of singing anytime soon.” The most accessible number on »From The Dead« is probably the album closer “Awaken The Night”: Melodic metal at its very best! Paul explains: “From day one our style was very varied, ranging from speed metal, thrash metal and heavy metal to melodic hard rock. This is why we wanted to have a straight number on the new record as well. At the end of the song, there is some punky speed metal shredding going on, so this makes it a typical Stallion number after all.” With songs such as “Underground Society” (and “Kill Fascists”) the lyrics of »From The Dead« are reflecting on how Stallion view what’s going on in the current metal scene. And it’s fair to say that there are some aspects they do not like at all: “»From The Dead« relates to tendencies within the metal scene to associate with extreme right-wing ideas and to toy with fascist symbols and iconography. Just for the sake of being extremely ‘evil’ and ‘true’, whatever that may mean. There is really no justification for following fascist ideologies. That’s a no no. And it doesn’t help proclaiming doing that purely for the sake of provocation. That doesn’t help at all. We also have a critical view regarding global politics right now. It may seem highly unlikely that people like Erdogan or Trump will ever listen to a Stallion album, I give you that, but maybe we can make metalheads think about what those politicians are doing to us. We probably won’t change the world. But at least we had our say

"Violent Restitution" is Razor's fifth album and marks the bridge between "Custom Killing" (1987) and "Shotgun Justice" (1990). The record was originally released in 1988 on SPV Records and contains 14 tracks, many of them under three minutes long (such as "Behind Bars" or "Below The Belt"). The record was recorded at Phase One Studios in Toronto, Canada and is dedicated to action actor Charles Bronson. Violent Restitution" enjoys cult status in fan circles, some even go so far as to call the 14 songs Razors absolute magic moment! Be that as it may, at least the material embodies Dave Carlo's indestructible vision of uncompromising working class thrash with a pinch of punk.

When the "classic" Pokolgép line up of József Kalapács on vocals, György Pazdera on bass, Gábor Kukovecz and László Nagyfi on guitar and László Tarca on drums recorded "Metál az ész", the band's fourth album, during the peak of their popularity in 1990, the fans expected nothing less than another masterpiece. And they should not be disappointed, especially because the Hungarian "Hell machine" (Pokolgép) achieved to unite the essence of their previous releases into the 10 tracks of the new album

With their third record "Éjszakai bevetés" (Night operation) Hungary's very own Pokolgép finally ascended the throne of Heavy Metal in 1989. The Hell machine (Pokolgép) was on full speed. The classic line-up of of József Kalapács on vocals, György Pazdera on bass, Gábor Kukovecz and László Nagyfi on guitar and László Tarca on drums proved Pokolgép's extraordinary position in the Hungarian music scene and the Eastern European Metal scene once again. Although some fans missed the full speed metal from earlier albums, "Éjszakai bevetés" was a huge commercial success.

Nasty Savage's legendary debut album was released in 1985 on Brian Slagel's Metal Blade Records, featuring brilliant tracks such as "Gladiator", "Fear Beyond The Vision" and "Asmodeus". Stylistically, Nasty Savage were totally unique, which in the era of heads down speed metal practised by the likes of Metallica, Slayer and Exodus did not really work in their favour. In his book "The Collector's Guide To Heavy Metal Volume 2: The Eighties" Canadian author Martin Popoff was clearly impressed but struggled to describe what Nasty Savage were all about: "Nasty Ronnie out-blasts Manowar on all philosophical tenets, constructing a verbal campaign of terror swathed in his backing arsenal's horrendously gothic display of power metal evoking Mercyful Fate, the heaviest from Iron Maiden, the blackest from old Priest, and all things leather-clad." 26 years after the last studio album Messiah are about to unleash the successor to their "Underground" record from 1994. The album is called "Fracmont" and will be issued by High Roller Records in a short while. To shorten the waiting time, there will be an EP containing three songs not to be found on the following album. For starters, said EP contains re-recorded versions of "Space Invaders" from the band's 1986 debut album "Hymn To Abramelin" as well as the title track of the second album "Extreme Cold Weather" (from 1987).

Along with "Crystal Logic" and "The Deluge" Manilla Road's "Open the Gates" is clearly one of the band's most well-regarded albums (to this very day it's cherished by fans and press alike).

Luzifer, a side project of German thrashers Vulture, were originally formed in Hamm/North Rhine-Westphalia in the year 2009 by Steeler (vocals, bass) and Genözider (vocals, guitar, drums). In 2015 their "Rise" EP was released, followed by "Black Knight" on High Roller Records in 2015. Both 7" singles have been unavailable for quite a few years and are now being re-issued as a mini-album on High Roller Records. According to band members Steeler and Genözider Luzifer have been influenced by Angel Witch, Witchfynde, Ritual, Warlord, old Manowar (circa "Into Glory Ride"), Heavy Load and Mercyful Fate, with a bit of German krautrock thrown in for good measure.
