The band had been discussing the idea to leave out keyboards in their songs for a while now and decided that this move gives them a sound that will make a difference in their approach. JADED HEART has always been a melodic band that writes songs with huge sing-along choruses – and this album offers many of those! For the first time in years, the entire band got together and wrote 2 songs as a complete unit in a rehearsal room in Cologne. Because the band lives in different countries this was not an easy task as you can imagine. The creative juices were flowing in full force and it took the band just 3 hours to write “Hero To Zero” and “Kill Your Masters”! The album cover however was not as easy to give birth to, but when Thomas Ewerhard presented the gladiator idea, everyone was on board right away. The impressive title song “Stand Your Ground” is about that very topic. Another first for JADED HEART was the involvement of an external lyricist. Johnny Lindberg was more than happy to be part of this album: “These songs inspired me. The high quality of the melodies and the rhythms alone on this album kind of provoked thoughts that sometimes sprung into words in me – and some lyrics ended up basically writing themselves. It’s been a great honor to have been given the task to write the lyrics for this hard-rocking, melodic metal album.”

The prog metal outfit ASSIGNMENT is back with its new album "Reflections"!As usual, the band follows its credo "metal without boundaries" and offers ten tracks with different atmospheres and epic melodies. The album also introduces the band's new drummer, Michael Kolar (ex-Victor Smolski's Almanac, Horsemen) as well as guest vocalist Inés Vera-Ortiz. SONGS "Trilogia Balkanica" and "Mercyful Angel" belong together and are dedicated to the remembrance and 20th anniversary of the NATO bombings in Serbia. The NATO mission was sometimes also called "Merciful Angel" - a rather cynical, sarcastic, and inhuman name for it. The song perfectly represents the hypocrisy of the Western civilization, especially of the USA. "Mercyful" in the song title is misspelled on purpose, and a little homage to the band Mercyful Fate. "Corporate Men" tries to look behind human behavior in today's business world - how far do you go to achieve some kind of recognition, and financial advantage? "Reflections", the album's title track, takes a deeper look at the life of people like Pani?'s father, who were forced to leave their homes due to poverty and move to a different country to earn some money. People, who just stayed for a couple of years, to save some money to live a better life in their home countries. People, who are now old, still living in the country that does not feel home while carrying their "real homes " in their hearts. "Endlessly" is about and the connection between a father and daughter, and the feelings and consequences following the break-up of a family and how children suffer due to decisions that are and were not theirs to make. "Unknown Hero" and "Silent Nation" kind of pick up the story that ended on the album "Inside Of The Machine": The lyrics deal with the development of society and the critical point when things obviously go wrong. And the will to sacrifice that is needed to change anything that would help most people - and this sacrifice is, as history clearly shows, paid by blood.

BLOODRED's second full-length album "The Raven's Shadow" offers the perfect fusion of black and death metal, all combined with melodic elements. "The Raven's Shadow" turned out to be a varied album and showcases a more mature songwriting while the extremes of the band's sound have been explored even further. You can look forward to frenzied blast beat attacks as well as slow and heavy songs, among others. Razor-sharp guitar riffs have been combined with epic melodies to create nine fantastic songs. The album's lyrics once again explore the dark side of human nature and grapple with topics such as suicide ("Hör Den Tod"), human sacrifice ("Blood On Thy Hands") or the cruelty of terrorist attacks ("Immense Hall Of Agony"). In contrast, the song "Under This Sun" pays homage to the wonderful beauty of nature. BLOODRED mastermind Ron Merz once again teamed up with producer Alexander Krull, who mixed and mastered the album at his Mastersound Studio, where the vocals and drums were recorded as well. The guitars and bass were recorded at Merz's BLDRD Studio. The result is a powerful yet transparent sound that allows the listener to grasp all the details without lacking the necessary punch. Joris Nijenhuis' powerful and precise drumming complement the songs very well. For the artwork, BLOODRED recruited photographic artist Stefan "Heile" Heilemann, who captured the mood of the album perfectly, and designed a timeless artwork that gives the album its own character. Ron Merz is the sole member of BLOODRED and acts as the band's vocalist, guitarist, bassist, songwriter, and composer. For the album recordings he is joined by session musician Joris Nijenhuis (Atrocity, Leaves' Eyes) on drums.
