Lovers of classic soul will rejoice at the news that William Bell, a much-admired survivor of the vintage Stax Records era of the late 1960s and first half of the '70s, is back on the celebrated imprint. He will unveil his first major release for almost four decades, This Is Where I Live, on Stax via Concord on 3 June. william-bellBell himself co-wrote most of the material for the new set with its producer, the Grammy-winning John Leventhal, and there are further writing collaborations with Rosanne Cash, Marc Cohn, Cory Chisel and Scott Bomar.
