FORKUPINES - Here, Away From (Ltd White Vinyl)

LIMITED EDITION OF 400 LPs ON WHITE VINYL. Whoever decided that hymns have to be of epic length? FORKUPINES break out the grand gesture right from the start on their debut album "Here, Away From", and most often they need less than four minutes to do so. What's more, they sound so light-footed and catchy as though they've done nothing else in their entire lives. Singalong choruses like the one from the opening "A Perfect Match" or hooks such as in "Everything I've Become" would suit Biffy Clyro's oeuvre perfectly. The fact that FORKUPINES don't even need orchestras, samples, or any other extras to create one catchy tune after another makes them that much more likeable. FORKUPINES was founded in May 2011 in Braunschweig, Germany. Since then the trio managed to leave traces all over Europe. After more than 150 shows and two EPs, "Here, Away From" is the long-awaited debut full length that seems destined to mark the breakthrough for FORKUPINES. The eleven songs found on "Here, away from" are just that strong. Influenced by punk, post hardcore, pop and emo, the band shows an extremely effective and convincing diversity. Were mixtapes still a thing, tracks such as the pop pearl "The Good Fight", the midtempo smasher "By the Sea" or the perfect last dance "Stay the Night" would be given away with a beating heart frequently this summer. Whether "Here, Away From" will prove to open the big doors for the band or not has to be seen.
