Underkarl - Timetunnel 25

The Cologne group UNDERKARL is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2017 with the release of its new album "Timetunnel 25" on 31st March on rent a dog. From the beginning, the Cologne quintet has gained a reputation as an important innovator in jazz. With a very open play in dealing with the jazz tradition, the band has inspired a wide audience and inspired countless musicians directly and indirectly. Founded 25 years ago in March 1992 by bassist Sebastian Gramss, the quintet, where after the departure of trombonist Nils Wogram was only a single change, was a true exception in the fast-paced jazz scene. This is documented by now 8 albums for TCB, Maraton, Enja and rent a dog. The last release "Homo Ludens" was honored in 2013 with the ECHO JAZZ. With more than 400 concerts - including important festivals in Germany and abroad - as well as several tours for the Goethe Institute, UNDERKARL has established itself as an established figure within the international jazz scene.
