Debut album of rhythmic electronic/glitch/drone music from this Québec-based producer following several selfreleased recordings and a live premiere at Mutek 2015. Automatisme is the electronic music project of Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec-based producer William Jourdain, who has been self-releasing a brilliant series of albums and tracks under this moniker since 2013, exploring various intersections of drone, dub techno, electronica, ambient, electro-acoustic, and noise. Always taking site-specific field recordings as its starting point, and with nominal reliance on synthesizers, Automatisme samples, signal bends, and transforms his source material into deliberate and elemental soundscapes of white and pink noise, spatial drone and methodically additive beats. Momentform Accumulations compiles much of Jourdain's most recent and most rhythmically-driven work. We're very excited to be issuing this as Automatisme's first official full-length physical album release - and while Jourdain continues to pursue his studies in Art History, his practice as a painter and installation artist, and his work at Saint-Hyacinthe's excellent Fréquences record store, we also anticipate diverse and fascinating future recordings from Automatisme that will stake out a multi-faceted identity for this viscerally engaged young producer. (We also urge interested ears to check out Automatisme on Bandcamp for previous recordings that similarly reveal the project's multiplicity.)

Despite having been around for more than 35 years, the American heavy legends are only now getting ready to release their second official live album after the 1990 seminal "Live" record. SAINT VITUS taped "Live Vol. 2" during the tour for their acclaimed comeback album, "Lillie: F-65" (2012), on March 19, 2013 at the Kulturfabrik in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg. The album and tour marked the return of Weinrich. Out of respect for their vintage heritage, SAINT VITUS chose to preserve the raw and pure live sound without cleaning up and patching with overdubs. As a result, "Live Vol. 2" is a true live document. Formed in 1979, SAINT VITUS were largely influenced by BLACK SABBATH, whose song "Saint Vitus Dance" obviously inspired the moniker. Recorded with the 3-D depth of analogue but there's less geek and more funk;
more Mod than Modular in the new album's tailored, minimalist design. Stephen Mallinder's vocals are a surreal joy, smeared with effects and electronics as they change, chant and shift around the jump-cut lyrics. The opening trio of lpha Omega', tupid' (Mallinder in a new mutant funk-falsetto) and clockwork' sets up White Glue with the crisp crack and thud of sequenced rhythms and lush synthesizers. Dirty' slams into a compelling funk beat with a bristling guitar riff courtesy of Julie Campbell (LoneLady). Mallinder delivers one of the most memorable vocals of his career - venting, sliding and punching through the layers of noise with real urgency and bile. He employs his voice-instrument to more measured effect on top' but it's no less hypnotic - a feverish guilt-mantra of out-of-control consumerism. The white-light-techno-rush, triggered synths and chopped-up, multi-layered vocals of Real Life' is followed by Days' which slowly loops in and then flicks off the safety catch with heavy bass and moody synth lines. Superset' is a late highlight as the band coax the rhythm into life before hitting hard with a lovely, deep groove. Colliding' is the spacey Krautrock closer, a beautiful, nuanced semi-instrumental song which exits with dreamy, abstract vocoder sounds and ambient synths.
