Guido Möbius - Spirituals - Vinyl

Guido Möbius will release a new album, Spirituals, on Berlin's Karaoke Kalk imprint in July. The German producer has a penchant for experimenting with organic sounds, such as horns and string instruments. For Spirituals, his fourth studio album overall and second on Karaoke Kalk, the emphasis is on the human voice and (as the album title and song names suggest) spirituality - an interesting move for an atheist who has previously shied away from using lyrics in his music. Vocal recitations from traditional gospel texts, manipulated to fit into Möbius' unconventional instrumentation, are used in six of the nine tracks on Spirituals, and overall more than a dozen vocalists are included in the album credits.
