Heavy Metal made in Japan - what still seems exotic to some fans today is rather a sign of quality for insiders. Already in the seventies bands like Earthshaker, Bow Wow or 44 Magnum were active. In the eighties Loudness or Outrage enriched the scene. Besides internationally famous modern bands, there is still a lively underground scene today, which is completely dedicated to traditional heavy metal and still strongly influenced by the NWOBHM. Risingfall from Tokyo spearheaded this movement and have released five EPs/Singles since their foundation in 2013. The quintet‘s songs (all members are in their mid-twenties) radiate a youthful energy that is immediately captivating. Nevertheless, the EPs/Singles recorded in a do-it-yourself manner are highly professional and much more interesting than some acts from Europe or the USA. Based on the wellknown LP by Loudness, one can confidently say: There‘s a new thunder in the East!
