Originally released on Flying Nun Records and then Xpressway - At Swim 2 Birds saw Peter Jefferies (on percussions, piano, tapes etc.) team up with Dunedin folk musician Jono Lonie (synth, guitar and violin) on the instrumental release, one that is at times both pastoral and experimental. Noise ambience, minimalism, piano-scapes, experimental moods, open forms... a homemade instrumental sound related with so many fields, seeking for free combinations among several elements and defending both antithesis and co-existence.

Fleetwood Mac unveiled a massive Deluxe Edition of it's revered double album Tusk in 2015 that featured 22 previously unreleased live performances selected from the band s 1979-80 tour. Until now, those concert recordings have only been available as part of the set and only on CD and digitally. Now, you can hear it on this fantastic set containing three slabs o' 12" wax. The music heard on In Concert was recorded at four stops during the band s 111-show world tour promoting Tusk. This new collection serves as a worthy companion to the classic 1980 album Live. Although a few songs are duplicated from that album, each performance on In Concert is unique and taken from a different show.

Embroiled in legal problems following the previous month’s so-called ‘Miami incident’, The Doors suffered a spate of gig cancellations in April 1969. Their appearance on the National Educational Television network’s Critique programme in New York, broadcast on WNDT Channel 13, was their first public performance since. Perhaps surprisingly, given the turmoil they were undergoing, it’s a remarkable set, showcasing material from their 1966 debut album and the forthcoming Soft Parade, as well as a rare rendition of the outtake Build Me A Woman. It’s presented here together with background notes and images.

Dinner is Danish producer and singer Anders Rhedin. Dinner leads a nomadic existence, dividing his time between Los Angeles, Copenhagen and Berlin. So far, Dinner has 3 EPs and a guided hypnosis tape under his belt. This April sees the release of his debut album Psychic Lovers. Whether the finished album lives up to Dinner's vision only Dinner knows. Musically, the album exists in its own space between the 80's, 90's and the present. The songs are pop songs held together by somewhat idiosyncratic arrangements. Opener "Cool As Ice" sounds like the soundtrack to David Lynch directing Miami Vice with overdriven synthetic strings and an equally eerie and funky slap bass that slowly grow into a pop structure. "Turn Me On" invokes the feeling of Sade recorded on VHS fronted by Klaus Nomi's baryton-possessed ghost, or a warped jingle from The Home Shopping Network. The song "Lie" has distinct Nico-esque undertones and John Cale-ish overtones wrapped in 80's melancholy, while "Wake Up" and "The World" explore inverted 90's Euro-pop. In the words of mix-engineer Filip Nicolic (Poolside), "The whole album sounds like Chimo Bayo produced by Marquis de Sade." An even more concise definition of Dinner comes from label-mate Mac Demarco: "Great face, great body, great tunes."

"Alcoholic" is a 15 minute onslaught of bleak sludge, harrowing vocals and an evil guitar tone. Cult of Occult employ repetition to great effect, playing each riff until breaking point before moving to the next. A slight shift in tempo towards the end of track ushers in a pummelling one chord attack, drums pounding to a frenzied climax. "Nihilistic", begins in similarly-pummelling fashion. The band adds in more atmospheric elements with this track, occasional bleary, reverb heavy guitar allows the listener to briefly catch their breath before the next crushing blow. "Misanthropic" kicks off with a buzzing black metal attack. This is only a brief respite though as before long Cult of Occult are wading through treacle once more. "Psychotic" emerges from the spaced-out conclusion of "Misanthropic" with glorious droning amplifier worship. "Satanic" brings proceedings to a close, beginning with hysterical declarations of war on everything before grinding out one last serving of punishment. Despite being a lengthy record at 65 minutes, "Five Degrees of Insanity" is engaging throughout and strangely addictive, particularly given its relentless nature and glacial pace."

Greta Kline's musical output as Frankie Cosmos exemplifies the generation of musicians born out of online self-releasing. Kline initially built a reputation with her prolific catalog of bedroom recordings and as a performer and advocate of New York's All Ages DIY scene. The beauty in Kline's writing does not lie within immense statements and large gestures, but instead can be found in her ability to examine situations and relationships with heartbreaking sincerity. In 2014 Kline released her first studio album, Zentropy. Within months of its release, Zentropy became one of the most critically acclaimed independent albums of the year and was named New York Magazine's #1 Pop album of 2014. In 2015 Kline signed to Bayonet Records, immediately releasing an EP where she experimented with writing in an electronic setting. The EP Fit Me In was well received and garnered a Best New Track from Pitchfork. Kline then began recording her next album appropriately titled, Next Thing. Like Zentropy, Kline approached Next Thing by fleshing out several old home recordings, and by writing half of the album from scratch. Next Thing explores new emotional and instrumental territory for Kline, and is slated for release April 1st on Bayonet Records.

The piece focuses on a number of themes which are extremely relevant to our lives in the 21st century, based around the actions and decisions of whistleblower Edward Snowden;
loss of faith and security, the hacking of digital media, invasion of privacy and personal sacrifice. This album constitutes the entire musical part of the performance. However, as the piece was conceived as an audio-visual piece, the visuals are included as downloadable content.
