A few years ago a new band appeared on the Austrian music scene. But as we know the road for so called Retro Rock acts in today's music scene tends to be long and dusty and therefore, during the past two years THE WEIGHT have had to prove their will and stamina: constant touring, countless interviews and many live and studio sessions formed a band that appears to finally be ready for the next bold step that will define their musical career. Consequently, the new THE WEIGHT record IN CONTROL sounds even more particular than its predecessor. The four musicians wrote music that no longer seems to be regardlessly classifiable. Songs like A Little Bit of Music still breathe the same air as Hard Way from the first album, but one can sense the now completed absence of compromise and dither. "The new record does mirror the events of the past few years. We have grown as men as we've done as musicians. I think we wouldn't have had the guts to record songs like Almost Gone or Down the Line three years ago. Now we do" Therefore, what strikes most about IN CONTROL is the variety of its musical ideas and identities that share a common ground in the work of four individuals to create something that is more than the sum of its parts.

We Are The City mark their musical return with their forthcoming, fifth full-length album, RIP. This new record, hinted at when last years's innovative AT NIGHT was released, is an interconnected companion album with RIP acting as the prog-pop counterpoint to AT NIGHT's more experimental exploration. We Are The City spent two years crafting the sweeping RIP, an emotive prog-pop opus, masterfully mixed by JUNO-winner Matty Green (The Weeknd, Frank Ocean, Paul McCartney), and three additional tunes were mixed by Steve Bays (Hot Hot Heat, Mounties). RIP is filled with anthems and intimate examinations of mortality. As evidenced in the title, RIP's thematic focus was inspired by a childhood friend, Kyle Tubbs of the band Fields of Green, who passed away during the sessions. Kyle was a brilliant and undiscovered musical talent who was a close collaborator during We Are the City's early years - whenever writing music, the guys would ask themselves, "What would Kyle do?" Singer-keyboardist Cayne McKenzie, drummer Andrew Huculiak and guitarist David Menzel started We Are The City way back when they were teenagers, and in the decade-plus since then, they’ve used the project as an outlet for their wildest creative whims. They’ve unveiled masked alter-egos (2011’s High School EP), created an album with an accompanying Norwegian-language feature film (2013’s Violent), and staged a live stream of their recording sessions (2015’s Above Club). These days, however, they’re happy to let their art do all the talking. We Are The City will be on tour in Europe in early 2020

0.7, originally released in 2012, is allbum #7 out of 11 in the impressive carreer or China's leading instrumental rock band WANG WEN. Their international audience has grown tremendously with the past 2 critically acclaimed albums, the bleak and melancholic "Sweet Home Go!" (2016, album #10) and the slightly warmer and more accessible "Invisible City" (2018, album #11), which the band presented live during 2 successful tours in Europe. WANG WEN are hailing from Dalian, a grim city in the North of China where large groups of young people currently move away towards more prosperous regions of booming China... a depressive environment, as guitarist and band leader Xie Yugang confirms. WANG WEN's music is a proud and conscious statement against the all-surrounding depression, and also to some degree a declaration of loyalty towards their home: their sound is oozing with melancholy as much as it is oozing with hope. 0.7 can be considered one of the most important albums in the band's discography. After constantly struggling with finding rehearsal spaces - for several years, the band had to deal with local villains and move into new temporary spaces every few months - this was the first album that they recorded in a proper recording studio, which were not easy to get access to in the China of the past decade.
