This DVD was recorded at the Beach Boys historic concert at Knebworth House on June 21st 1980. It proved to be the last time that the original Beach Boys: Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Carl Wilson, Dennis Wilson and Alan Jardine, would appear together on any stage. The DVD includes virtually all the Beach Boys classics such as Fun, Fun, Fun, Help Me Rhonda, Sloop John B, Lady Lynda, I Get Around, Barbara Ann, Wouldn't It Be Nice, Surfin' USA, California Girls and of course Good Vibrations. It's entertaining, nostalgic, even poignant... not much more one could ask for from a Beach Boys concert. This 70-minute concert was the last time the complete group (brothers Brian, Carl and Dennis Wilson, Al Jardine, Mike Love, and Bruce Johnston, plus backing musicians) would appear in the U.K., performing a mix of oldies ("California Girls," "Help Me Rhonda," "Fun, Fun, Fun," etc.) and some newer material. And if the show itself is somewhat pedestrian, it's still marvelous to see the three Wilsons together onstage, especially in view of the subsequent deaths of Dennis (in '83) and Carl (in '98), and Brian's eventual triumphant recovery from mental and emotional problems. To hear Carl sing so beautifully on "God Only Knows," or Dennis play drums with such power and emotion, or Brian, vacant but game, contribute a few lines to "Surfer Girl"... well, it might just bring a tear to your eye. --Sam Graham

For us, it’s the perfect introduction to About the Young Idea: The Jam, a new documentary celebrating the coming of age story of a group of teenagers from Woking that became legends. “We disparaged everything that was current”, explains Brookes, harking back to the band’s 60s influences and unashamedly sharp sense of style. The Who’s My Generation and The Clash set the course for The Jam’s focus, “it’s not that we thought we should be a punk band”, Weller casually remarks, “but it was a great scene”. Celebrated director Bob Smeaton brings together alternating interviews with the band and famed fans, integrated with live footage of the band in their heyday and snippets from the monumental music videos. The film takes inspiration from and shares its title with the exhibition at Somerset House five years in the making. Long over due but well worth the wait, the film concisely capsules the history of a pivotal band and surrounding circumstances. Needless to say, the soundtrack is original and unparalleled. Continuing the very successful From The Vault series of classic, previously unreleased Rolling Stones live shows this release is taken from their performance at Roundhay Park in Leeds, England on 25 July 1982. This show was the last concert on their 1982 European Tour in support of 1981 s acclaimed Tattoo You album which would be their last live tour for seven years. About half of the Tattoo You album is included in the set including the hit single Start Me Up . This would be the last Rolling Stones show to feature Ian Stewart on piano. The footage has now been carefully restored and the sound has been newly mixed by Bob Clearmountain for this first official release of the show.
