Finally ...the live album of the Bluegrass/Folk heroes with 17 songs! Over 6 years ago we discovered the four gentlemen of THE DEAD SOUTH from Regina, Saskatchewan during the Canadian Music Week in Toronto very late in the evening in a rather sparsely filled club. Our enthusiasm was accompanied by the signing of a contract and so we released their debut album "Good Company" in November 2014. Of course we are quite proud that we were able to write an indie success story with the band, which is now celebrated with a double live album called "Served Live". Of course, the idea is not completely new, but if it makes sense for a band, then it's The Dead South, because their live shows are already quite legendary and especially on stage their strengths show up, which are quite hard to find on a studio album: irrepressible joy of playing, a genre-busting live dynamic, a good pinch of humor as well as a mutual pushing each other are just some attributes that come to my mind. The "Die-Hard-Fans" of the band will of course not be 100% satisfied, because despite only three studio albums, one or the other song is surely missing - especially _ÇÜGunslinger's Glory' for me, but this one is also very long. Also some of their cover versions of bands like the Animals, The Decemberists or various Tradionals are part of their live sets, but here only their own songs should make it onto the records or CDs. The 17 songs on "Served Live" were recorded on 17 different shows, because the band wanted to say a little thank you to as many fans as possible, but unfortunately Covid-19 made a big mistake and there are no German shows, whereas USA (L.A., Seattle, Portland, Boston, Atlanta, Denver, NY), GB (Manchester, London, Newcastle, Portsmouth, Belfast, Dublin) and their home country Canada (Edmonton, Halifax, Montreal) are represented. "Served Live" is an incredibly energetic and authentic live document that will also bring a lot of joy to local fans of The Dead South and a warm comfort for the time of waiting for the next tour.

The label Devil Duck from Hamburg has had the wish to take a British band under its wings for a while now, because bands like Idles, Shame, Fontaines D.C. and others show that there is finally a big pool of great bands from the UK again. TALK SHOW from South London, where artistically the English navel of the world seems to be anyway, have now become it and on August 28th their debut EP "These People" will be released digitally and on vinyl. The band is still very fresh and could convince us live at the beginning of January with their almost provocative intensity during the "Mucke bei die Fische" series at the Molotow. The first release of the EP is called 'âÇÜStress' and is their slap in the face of a "Modern Living" that they detest. According to singer & guitarist Harrison Swann, like the other songs, it was primarily written in public transport, because that's exactly where you can observe such a einges einges, for example a throwaway society that seems to be in search of a deeper meaning and importance. Swann also let influences of billboards and traffic signs of the journey flow into his lyrics.

Shred Kelly are still quite unknown to us, but with "Like A Rising Sun" they are releasing their fifth album and we still believe in one of the best live bands in Canada, because this is exactly the title they could win there. The quintet used to call their music "Stoke Folk", but now they see themselves better described as "Alternative Folk Rock", maybe because the folk aspect is much less present on the new album than it was in their early days. Meanwhile the band from the Canadian Rockies has celebrated their 10th anniversary and after their already mentioned, incredibly energetic live show at the beginning rather led through Canadian ski cities, they live in the small ode Ferny, BC, by the way, they are now on the road much more internationally and played and recorded in Canada. a. at such diverse highlights as Reeperbahn Festival, Australian Music Week, Folk Alliance, SXSW, Winnipeg Folk Festival, Ottawa Bluesfest, Mariposa Folk Festival, SKOOKUM Festival, and Kaslo Jazz Etc Festiva
