Japan’s all-female metal powerhouse Mary’s Blood have their first overseas release with latest album FATE. This edition features exclusive digipak design, housing an 18-page poster booklet containing the original Japanese lyrics and their transliteration, plus a poster. This ferocious album sees the band collaborate with BABYMETAL producer Yuyoyuppe (“KARATE”, “Megutsune”) on two songs, the first time they’ve allowed writing duties to someone outside of the band. Moso Calibration bring bass heavy electronic music to Japan’s idol scene. With tracks produced by BABYMETAL writer Yuyoyuppe (KARATE, Megistune), under his electronic alter ego DJ'TEKINA//SOMETHING, and managed by Japan’s subculture pioneers Dear Stage, responsible for the idol phenomenon of Dempagumi.inc (over 56 million views on YouTube), Moso Calibration is set to break out of Japan with the release of GREATEST HITS WORLD ∞ SELECTION. It will be their first album released and available exclusively outside of Japan, and includes all of their singles – yet to feature on any albums in Japan. Having reformed in June 2016, Esprit D’Air are an electronic Japanese rock and space metal band based in London. The band is now comprised of Kai (vocals and guitar), Ellis (bass) and Daishi (drums). Their sound is unique and fresh, bringing together hard-hitting aggression with melodic interludes and blistering guitar solos. The band have received critical acclaim from their charismatic live shows in various countries, and their song 'Shizuku' was the first song in the J-rock genre to appear on the video game Rock Band 3. Set to burst back on to the music scene this year, Esprit D’Air made a successful appearance at the main stage of UK’s largest celebration of Japanese culture, Hyper Japan at Olympia in July 2016. 2017 also saw the trio packing out their headline show at the O2 Academy2 Islington, London. The band are not seeking a major record label, but instead have a strong DIY ethos, and aim to be as self-sufficient as possible, producing everything themselves. The documentary film of the GazettE’s latest world tour will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK and Europe on 24 March, 2017 via JPU Records. The 108-minute feature, entitled THE GAZETTE WORLD TOUR16 DOCUMENTARY DOGMATIC –TROIS–, will include subtitles in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian exclusively for the physical release, and is available to preorder now from Amazon (here) and other retailers, as well as direct from JPU Records (DVD here, Blu-ray here). Filmed during April–June last year, the documentary gives fans of the GazettE unprecedented access as the visual kei veterans conduct their most extensive overseas tour, with dates across the Americas, Europe and Asia. See the quintet struggle with the elements as a storm leaves the team stranded in Houston, USA; watch what happens when their equipment is stolen before their very first show, including the laptop with all the programming, sequencing and scheduling on; and get to experience new cities, new countries and life on the road as the band swap the arenas of Japan for intimate venues in Mexico, Brazil, U.S.A., Canada, France, Germany and more, including Le Zenith in Paris, The PlayStation Theatre in New York and Moscow’s Izvestia Hall. Guitarist AOI comments, “It still feels surreal, seeing how many people overseas know about the GazettE. In Japan, we have complete control and work with specific equipment. This was the first time in years that we didn’t have such tight control, and couldn’t bring our own backline, yet things worked out fine and sounded great. I don’t think we’ll be able to recreate the sounds of this tour again, especially from the shows in Dallas and New York. It’s helped me realise I don’t need to be so picky. ANIME BEST KIWAMI crams 14 of FLOW’s most popular tracks that have been used as theme songs in anime, including the Dragon Ball Z, Naruto and Persona franchises. The Japanese pop-rock giant’s first tie-in with Japanese anime, breakout single GO!!!, is of course included. The song managed to stay in Japan’s national chart for 22 weeks and its video has also been viewed close to 14 million times internationally. Also included is the band’s highest charting single COLORS, which peaked at number two in Japan’s Oricon single chart, as well as international fan-favourite Sign from Naruto: Shippuden, FLOW’s most viewed video outside of Japan, experiencing almost 17 million plays.
