Hailing from 1960's Memphis, The Box Tops are best known for the hits "The Letter", "Cry Like a Baby" and "Soul Deep", and are considered a major blue-eyed Soul group of the period. They performed a mixture of current Soul music songs by artists such as James & Bobby Purify and Clifford Curry, Pop tunes such as "A Whiter Shade of Pale" by Procol Harum, and songs written by their producers, Dan Penn, Spooner Oldham, and Chips Moman. Their records are prime examples of the styles made popular by Moman and Penn at American Sound Studio in Memphis. Many of their lesser known Top 40 hits, including "Neon Rainbow", "I Met Her in Church", and "Sweet Cream Ladies, Forward March", are considered minor classics.

180 GRAM AUDIOPHILE VINYL Black Oak Arkansas is an American Southern rock band named after the band's hometown of Black Oak, Arkansas.The band reached the height of its fame in the 1970s with ten charting albums released in that decade. Their style is punctuated by multiple guitar players and the raspy voice and on-stage antics of vocalist Jim "Dandy" Mangrum. Their self-titled debut album Black Oak Arkansas was released in 1971, and is generally regarded by fans as the band's best. The record featured enduring BOA classics like "Hot And Nasty", "Lord Have Mercy On My Soul", "Uncle Lijiah" (written in pseudo-tribute to Harvey Jett's real-life great uncle) and "When Electricity Came To Arkansas", which was wrongfully accused by fundamentalist religious groups of containing backward-masked "Satanic messages" (possibly from a live performance of the song in which Mangrum utters "natas" three times). The band toured extensively, gaining a reputation as a premier live act throughout the early 0s all across America, and later even in Europe.

This is a hard-edged Fusion quartet with guitarist Allan Holdsworth, Alan Pasqua on keyboards, Tony Newton on bass, and the drummer Tony Williams. By the time Tony Williams left Miles Davis in 1969, he had moved even farther away from the acoustic tradition than his former employer. His first recordings with his new band, Lifetime, were characterized by the sleeve instructions: "Play it Loud!" The energy level was high and the music was infused with a Rock and Roll philosophy. Williams overpowers with his stronger sense of groove and sheer muscularity. And while he is every bit as capable of extravagant displays of technique, he always sounds musical.

Following up on their debut F.U.: Don't Take It Personal, Nervous Breakdown (1994) proved that the Fu-Schnickens could deliver the goods. The album shows an improved lyrical maturity among all three members, but most noticeably Chip Fu, whose hyperactive flow has more hilarious, colorful cartoon imagery than ever. From the opening track, "Breakdown," on, this is a frenzied, fast-paced roller coaster ride of originality that doesn't let up until the last song ends. The album reached the nineteenth spot on the R&B Albums chart, and managed to break the Billboard Album charts.

It was his first solo album after his departure from Folk-Rock group the Byrds in 1966. The album was a critical success and it established Clark as a talented singer-songwriter. This album stands as the one of the best, if not the best example of how powerful a singer, writer, and bandleader he was. The musicians on the album include his former band mates Chris Hillman and Michael Clarke, along Wrecking Crew session musicians Glen Campbell, Jerry Cole, Leon Russell and future Clark collaborator Doug Dillard. The Folk/Country vocal duo the Gosdin Brothers added backing vocals.

It was released in May 1971. In its time, Johnny Winter And Live was an enormously popular live album, especially among high-school kids just starting to discover Blues-Rock in the early 0s. The album is probably the best representation of Johnny Winter's sound from his prime years. The highlights are of considerable value, however, including a searing rendition of the Stones "Jumpin' Jack Flash" sandwiched between some much older repertory like "Great Balls of Fire", "Long Tall Sally", and "Johnny B. Goode". The players generally try for something a little more subtle and interesting. Winter performed together with Bobby Caldwell, Rick Derringer, and Randy Jo Hobbs

In 1984 Mirror Moves was placed 43 in The Billboard 200. Some of the band's best songs made an appearance here.Both "The Ghost in You" and "Heaven" balanced off a warm sound that managed to be radio-friendly on the one hand. John Ashton's guitar mixed in surprisingly well with the fine if often conventional keyboard arrangements and surprisingly barbed on the other. "Here Come Cowboys" and "Alice's House" are two particular winners. Because of the combination with guitar, string chug, a brilliant slow descending chorus, the driving, nervous piano and massed vocals. Before this album, drummer Vince Ely had left the group, leaving Richard Butler and Tim Butler along with guitarist John Ashton to carry on. For this project, producer Keith Forsey handled the drumming.
