It includes the Top 40 hit single "Girls Can't Do What the Guys Do". My First Time Around has crackling stories of the kind of love you regret even while you're making it ("I'm Gonna Hate Myself In The Morning"), with men you should be ashamed to know ("He's Bad, Bad, Bad"). The music is note-for-note perfect, from the organ accenting "Circle of Heartbreak" to the horn section on "Girls Can't Do What The Guys Do," appropriately the record's hit single. Featuring Clarence Reid on piano.

180 GRAM AUDIOPHILE VINYL Jimmy Scott's The Source (1969) is as beautiful and strong today as it was when it was recorded for Ray Charles' Tangerine Records. The lyrical links of "Unchained Melody" are absolutely righteous and the strains of "Exodus" could lead a listener to cry the Red Sea or to part it. While "Motherless Child" aches with orphaned loneliness, "Our Day Will Come" is confidentially encouraging. Jimmy Scott was an American Jazz vocalist famous for his unusually high contralto voice and his sensitivity on ballads and love songs. After a series of successes in the 1940s and §0s, Scott's career faltered by the early 60s. He slid into obscurity before launching a well-received comeback in the 1990s. His unusual singing voice was due to Kallmann's syndrome, a very rare genetic condition. For over 40 years, Scott's frankly feminine registers, delayed deliveries, easy shapings, and full-Soul bellows have been a source of inspiration and style for everyone from Nancy Wilson to k.d. lang, and this album carries that legendary legacy into the 21st century.

It features the hit single "Haven't You Heard". The single soared to the top of R&B radio play lists and remains among Rushen's biggest hits. When Patrice Rushen was being lambasted by Jazz fans for making the switch from Jazz instrumentalist to R&B/Pop singer, she was also winning over a quite a few people: R&B fans loved her singing. Her profile in the R&B world continued to increase with Pizzazz. The whole album is excellent, drawing on influences as Earth, Wind & Fire, Minnie Riperton and Stevie Wonder. Pizzazz might have received some negativity from Jazz critics, but from an R&B/Pop perspective, it's among Rushen's most rewarding and essential albums.

180 GRAM AUDIOPHILE VINYL Just before Heart recorded the album that became Bebe Le Strange, the band was faced with one of their biggest challenges. In October of 1979, founding member Roger Fisher was asked to leave the group (after the relationship between him and Nancy Wilson had already ended, and Wilson was now dating drummer Mike Derosier - while her sister Ann was still dating Roger Fisher's brother Michael, the band's manager). So, while Heart recorded their fifth LP in Seattle in Winter of 1979, it was their first album without Fisher's guitar playing or song writing. Instead, Sue Ennis (a longtime friend of Ann and Nancy Wilson's) was brought in to help out co-writing tunes, and she also played some guitar and piano on the album. Collectively, Sue, Ann and Nancy called themselves "Connie" and their lyrics were more personal than ever before. Once Nancy Wilson and Roger Fisher had broken up, the creative powers in the band shifted. The Wilson sisters were now in full control. Originally released on February 14, 1980, the album contains the singles "Even It Up" and "Bebe Le Strange", and eventually certified Gold.

It is the second album by the Norwegian Alternative Rock band Madrugada, originally released in 2001. A large amount of record buyers went crazy for Madrugada after hearing their 1999 debut album Industrial Silence. Madrugada, however, chose quite differently;
they returned with this ultra-bleak record. And for the better of it: this is a much better and more consistent album than their debut. The lyrics are more poetic, the songs are much more diverse, and the production is wonderfully dirty, giving the record a rather dangerous aura. Madrugada has taken elements of the best bits from their past, for example, the beautifully dark "A Deadend Mind", and combined them with a new rawness and energy found in "Nightly Disease Part II"
