Prior to being a member of Bread with whom he enjoyed numerous Hot 100 hits in the early 70s, David Gates had a music career that stretched back to 1957. He was a very well respected session musician who quickly stepped up to be both an arranger and producer. A singer in his own right; he was also a prolific songwriter. For the first time, we are bringing together the best of these songs ( as a songwriter),from the golden years of 1962 through 1967. They include many girl group and northern soul rarities.
