Британская прог-рок-группа Alan Parsons Project существовала с 1975 по 1990 год. Основными участниками группы были Эрик Вольфсон и Алан Парсонс, которые окружали себя различными различными сессионными музыкантами. Англичанин Парсонс и шотландец Вульфсон познакомились в столовой студии Abbey Road в 1974 году. Парсонс уже работал в качестве ассистента звукорежиссера на альбомах "Abbey Road" и "Let It Be" группы "Битлз" и записывал альбом Pink Floyd "The Dark Side Of The Moon". Вульфсон, автор песен и композитор, работал сессионным пианистом.

альбом "Pyramid" был выпущен в качестве третьего альбома APP в 1978 году - название произошло от многочисленных ссылок на египетские пирамиды, встречающихся в альбоме.
