Шестисерийный аниме-сериал Yasuke, созданный японским аниматором, продюсером и режиссером ЛеСином Томасом ("Пушечные бастеры", "Дети Эфира", "Бундоки"), рассказывает о воине-самурае африканского происхождения в фантастической версии феодальной Японии в альтернативной вселенной, наполненной магией, мечами и, конечно же, игрой на мечах.

Это был проект мечты для Flying Lotus, который консультировал сюжет и работал вместе с известным создателем аниме Studio MAPPA в качестве исполнительного продюсера. Продюсер, получивший премию "Грэмми", в полной мере продемонстрировал свое мастерство на альбоме, сочетая синтезаторные мелодии, басовые линии и барабанные партии, созданные машиной, и исследуя новые звуковые территории - традиционные японские ударные инструменты, такие как тайко и гиошиги, а также западноафриканскую перкуссию, что свидетельствует об афро-японском, феодальном, но футуристическом мире, в котором живет Ясуке.

Недавно Flying Lotus вместе с Thundercat получил премию "Грэмми" за лучший прогрессивный R&B-альбом (It Is What It Is), а также был номинирован как продюсер года на 63-й церемонии вручения премии "Грэмми".

On June 26th (June 19th on Bandcamp!), Rob Ellis AKA Pinch will release his first solo album in 13 years, via his own label, Tectonic. ‘Reality Tunnels’ is a concept that was originally introduced by Robert Anton Wilson in his 1983 book ‘Prometheus Rising’. In essence, the concept of a reality tunnel relates to an idea on how we create our own perspective – the subjective filter that we each apply to the world around us; the things we perceive and what our consciousness deems worthy of attention, IE what we see and hear is entirely relative to what we do not.   At points angular and uncompromising with levels in the red, frequencies pushed out and EQ curves stretched into strange new shapes, Pinch mixes both low and hi fi on this boldly distinct sonic statement. It sees him flexing years of production skills – but unconventionally so – knowing well that safe predictability and rounded polish don’t get the most interesting results. Dark trip hop Bristolia segues into blistering jungle on album opener ‘Entangled Particles’, before planet-hopping onto the spiky insidious grimestep of ‘All Man Got’, featuring the rugged rasp of OG warhorse Trim.

Sarmacja's sophomore album 'Jazda Polska' follows up on their 2018 debut on Astigmatic Records, 'Tutejsi' is being released by London-based label Byrd Out. Above all there is dub on it - however unorthodox - originally captured. Mystical flow, reckless charges and joyful songs - all without restraint and with uhlan fantasy. The spirit of a holy madman in the sarmatian version hovers over the record - the one who after a few glasses of vodka, covered with gasoline fragrance from the barbecue - once being moved, telling about the misery of the nation, and a moment after falling into ecstasy of stories about bravery in battles. Then in anger - when reminding himself how much the neighbour's diesel burns. Bottom line is simple - having fun, especially until dawn. And even if the stories of the holy madman are slightly slacked, even if at times the vibe gets gloomy, and the story isn't fully true - who cares? 'Jazda Polska' got even more colors thanks to the excellent features of Kacha Kowalczyk known from Coals and Muka. She appeared in two songs on the album - Doktor S?owo & Karaoke Dub.The Orb made a remix of Olimpijczyk to end the LP, commenting on Byrd Out's suggestion of doing a remix "Sounds weird enough", and The Orb's Oak Island Remix has a quintessentially Orb feel. The Oak Island reference is a nod to the Knights Templars link to the Money Pit on Oak Island, Nova Scotia. Sarmacja is Pawe? Bartnik, Micha? Ko?owacik and (now also) Aleksandra Szali?ska aka. FLicker Fox, musicians operating at the forefront of the Polish experimental scene!
