As Jett himself explains, "Hits For Kids implies that it's something you don't expect. It fits the theme of the record;
nothing is what it seems." Tuinstra himself calls Hits For Kids "songs for free spirits. Songs for people that want and dare to be themselves." Everything on the album has been written, composed and played by himself: drums, bass, guitar, vocals, organ, accordion, synth, percussion, even flute & sax. Hits For Kids was mixed in London by Tony Platt, known for mixing Bob Marley, AC/DC and Foreigner. The album is mastered by Ray Staff, who also mastered Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, The Clash and Muse. This vinyl edition of Hits For Kids includes a CD copy of the album!

The album is her fifth collaboration with John Cale and second with him as producer. It carries the same harmonium-based sound heard on The Marble Index [MOVLP1138] and Desertshore, with the addition of Brian Eno's synthesizersand electronic instruments. The song "You Forget To Answer" tells of the misery felt by Nico when she failed to reach ex-lover Jim Morrison by phone only to find out later that he had died. All but two of the songs on the album were written by Nico: the cover of The Doors' "The End" and a version of the German national anthem "Das Lied Der Deutschen". Brian Eno performs synthesizer on "It Has Not Taken Long", "You Forgot to Answer" and "Innocent and Vain". Being 40 years since the album originally came out, we're adding a whole LP to the package with bonus material from 74/75, previously unavailable on vinyl!

180 GRAM AUDIOPHILE VINYLA Long Time Comin' is the fi rst album by American Rock band The Electric Flag, released in 1968. The meat of the album is Soul along with Blues and Rock with a horn section. It is widely seen as an ambitious debut album by music critics. Ex- Paul Butterfield Band guitarist Mike Bloomfi eld, drummer Buddy Miles and others put this Soul-Rock band together in 1967. Their debut is a testament to their ability to catch fi re and keep on burnin'. Electric Flag appeared at the Monterey International Pop Festival with the Blues Project, Paul Butterfi eld, and Janis Joplin, and all these groups had some musical connection to each other beyond that pivotal festival. A Long Time Comin' was called the "New Soul" and tunes like "She Should Have Just" and "Over-Lovin' You" lean more towards the Soul side than the Pop so many radio listeners were attuned to back then. A song like "Groovin' Is Easy" is a classy production, containing intellectual ideas with lots of musical changes, a subdued version of what Janis Joplin herself would give us on I Got Dem Ole Kozmic Blues Again, Mama [MOVLP465] two years later. A Long Time Comin' infl uenced bands who would go on to sell more records. The material is pretty much composed by Mike Bloomfi eld and Barry Goldberg, spiced up by a cover of Howlin' Wolf's "Killing Floor" and spoken-word news broadcasts

A pair of instrumentals, the dark breaks symphonies "Sanity Requiem" and "The Blackhole" are added by high-profile vocal features of Antipop Consortium and Anticon, in the stoner nightmare "Song for John Walker". Ace rapping comes from Japanese MC Inden, who gets his point across on "Toki No Tabiji (Journey of Time)" without needing to resort to English.

Following the success of Pulp Fiction and an "easy tune" hype, The Treble Spankers got massive airplay with the single "Red Hot Navigator" on Dutch national radio. These musical omnivores didn't care a rap for trends and externals. They provided magnificent songs by diverse artists such as Kraftwerk, Herb Alpert and 2 Unlimited with new energy. Casually, they added a few classics to music history by means of their own brilliant compositions. Their music is rebellious, and as mysterious as the swamps of Sumatra, and expresses the mysticism of the American Indians. Between 1993 and 1996, The Treble Spankers played over 500 shows in Europe. The band played a packed Roskilde tent at the Pinkpop festival in front of 10,000 jumping fans and the album Hasheeda ended up selling an impressive 20,000 copies in the Netherlands alone. Former band members are now active in The Phantom Four and Los Tiki Boys. 18 years after its original release, the album is reissued on 180 gram audiophile vinyl. Surf's up!

The Frames' line-up for Fitzcarraldo features Glen Hansard on guitar and vocals, Colm Mac Con Iomaire on violin, Graham Downey on bass guitar and keyboards, Dave Odlum on lead guitar, Paul Brennan on drums and Noreen O'Donnell on backing vocals. The title track's name comes from Werner Herzog's 1982 film Fitzcarraldo which frontman Hansard describes as being about a man "pulling a ship over a mountain". The album has been the go-to document for the long-running Dublin band's early sound. Actually, it's not all that different from the punchy, emotional Rock sound that would define them for over a decade following. Led by the passionate and fearless Glen Hansard, The Frames always remain listenable while liberally pouring out their every embarrassing emotion;
the deft violin, cello, and keys that flesh out the songs help prevent too much confessional melodrama. Hansard is a belter, but his earnest vulnerability on songs like "Giving It All Away" draws an empathetic response anyway. "Revelate," a statement of purpose as deeply felt as the best of U2's early singles, would justifiably come to be a live fan favorite.
