It was released on EMI records in 2005 and went on to become the highest selling release in Norway for that year with the band's previous release The Deep End as the runner up. The songs were recorded at various locations during 2003 and 2005 as noted in the track listing. The powerful, "You Better Leave" is the only ew' song on the album and the only song (so far) unavailable elsewhere as a recorded studio version. The name Tralfamadore is a reference to the fictional home planet of aliens from several novels by the American science fiction author Kurt Vonnegut.

The mystery and intrigue surrounding the breaks became the stuff of hip-hop legend, and a treasure trove for crate-diggers and vinyl enthusiasts. In association with premium reissue label Get On Down, world-renowned DJ Kenny Dope, a longtime fan of the breaks that made up Wild Style's soundtrack, re-edited the tracks into full-length cuts in 2014. Along with his rival, Cornell Campbell, Johnny Clarke was one of the most esteemed singers of the roots reggae era. Having grown up next door to a popular sound system on Waltham Park Road in western Kingston, Clarke’s early fascination with music led him to hang out at Studio One with Jacob Miller while still at school. He then made the rounds of talent shows with Barry Brown, Sugar Minott and the Diamonds, which led to a debut recording in 1973, for the pianist Glen Stair, which remains unreleased. An early effort for Clancy Eccles, God Made The Sea And Sun, was not promoted properly, though Everyday Wondering, for Rupie Edwards, impacted in Britain;
Golden Snake for Stamma Houghton and a cover of Smokey Robinson’s You Really Got A Hold On Me for Glen Brown were also false starts. The breakthrough finally came in 1975 when Clarke linked with Bunny Lee, who had him voice the Rastafari landmark None Shall Escape The Judgement (written by Earl Zero, who failed to muster a credible take), which kick-started the Flying Cymbal craze. Clarke’s resultant debut album, Enter Into His Gates With Praise, mixed hard-hitting Rastafari devotional material with sympathetic cover versions of classics by the likes of the Paragons, Slim Smith and Delroy Wilson, along with a few reggae renditions of some vintage American R&B

Guantanamo Baywatch's new album Desert Center opens with "Conquistador", an instrumental track displaying enough fretboard savvy and fiery twang to make The Challengers proud. But any notion that Guantanamo Baywatch is strictly adhering to one facet of rock n' roll's classic era is dispelled by the soulful swagger and unabashed pop of "Neglect". It's an inadvertent juxtaposition maintained through the entirety of Desert Center, with blazing instrumental nuggets like "The Scavenger" alternating with the proto-grunge and golden oldies mash-up of a track like "Blame Myself." Like their 2015 album Darlingâ?Ý It's Too Late, Desert Center was primarily tracked in Atlanta at Living Room Recording with Justin McNeight and Ed Rawls, with Jason Powell doing the bulk of the guitar tracks on his own at Jungle Muscle Studios. While Guantanamo Baywatch initially made a name for themselves with their early blown-out recordings, Desert Center retains the raw aesthetics of a Hasil Adkins single, but has the added heft and thump afforded by a modern studio. This balance is perhaps best captured on their lead single "Video", where bassist Chevelle Wiseman drives the tune with a thick, throbbing riff while drummer Chris Scott ruthlessly pounds his kit with a crashing clarity guaranteed to please even the most snobby analog audiophile.

Although they have been tragically defunct for almost two decades, the influence of Gang Starr is still felt today, almost as heavily as it was back in the 1990s, when DJ Premier and Guru ruled atop boom-bap mountain. As fans know, beyond the duo’s direct output, one of their lasting legacies was bringing younger talent to the rap world at large – including Jeru The Damaja, M.O.P., Afu-Ra and Big Shug. One of the more unsung talents that came out of the Gang Starr Foundation was the Brooklyn-based duo Group Home, consisting of MCs Lil Dap and Melachi The Nutcracker. Dap was first showcased on the Gang Starr posse cut “I’m The Man,” on 1992’s Daily Operation, Melachi appeared on “Words From The Nutcracker” from 1993’s Hard To Earn. The early Group Home song “So Called Friends” was also featured on 1993’s now-legendary Gangstarr Foundation Sampler, which also gave the world Jeru’s “Come Clean.” By 1995, Dap and Melachi had paid their dues and finally got their own full-length: "Livin’ Proof". And it was everything that Gang Starr and any true school hip-hop fans could have wanted, produced almost entirely by DJ Premier (with two exceptions: “Serious Rap Shit” helmed by Guru himself, and “4 Give My Sins,” produced by Jay-Z mentor Jaz-O (aka Big Jazz). Beyond the album’s still-jocked commercial singles – “Supa Star,” “Livin’ Proof” and “Suspended In Time” – there are Premier-overseen classics all over, including “The Realness,” “Inna Citi Life,” and “Sacrifice.” In fact, many Gang Starr scholars agree that the beats on Living Proof are in the Top 5 of all Premier-produced albums – no small boast, but certainly hard to disprove. More than two decades later, the album still sounds as strong as it did upon its release. So dust off your turntable and give it another ride, back to the days when boom-bap was real, and ruling.

Over the past few decades Golden Earring has passed many a mile stone. Only last year they were celebrated with their own stamps, a museum exhibition, and Music On Vinyl brought tribute to the band with the 'From Heaven, From Hell' limited 10" 2LP release, that actually managed to enter the Dutch charts. Not a small feat for vinyl in this day and age! Golden Earring decided not to rest on their laurels, but dove back into the studio to record an all-new album: 'Tits 'n Ass'. Their first single 'Still Got The Keys To My First Cadillac' proves that they still got it. Glue didn't really have to get better, but they have. With barely 25 minutes of recorded music to their name-spread across a demo, an EP and a tour tape-our appetite for the band's distinctive take on hardcore had hardly been sated. However, their latest foray ups the ante in all respects, not only pushing against the edges of their sound in the ways you might expect when a band releases its first 12" record, but also by taking the things they already did well even further. Listening to Glue has always felt like you're standing next to a ticking time bomb, but something about this latest recording with its noisy, everything-in-the-red mix makes the band sound even more explosive, and I pity the soul who tries to sit still while this thing is on the turntable. However, once you get past the immediate, visceral thrill that this record inspires, you'll be able to appreciate how Glue are expanding upon the primal beats and weirdly circular, almost psychedelic take on hardcore riffing that has made them stick out from the pack since the beginning. "Flowers of Friendship," with its bright, major key main riff, smashes together Glue's savage hardcore with a traditional oi! vibe to interesting results, and the closing track is built around a hard-driving rock riff that sounds like it was lifted straight off of an old Judas Priest record.
