Year after year the New York City we know, in constant flux, changes with some parts disappearing altogether. The Brooklyn venue where the three-piece EZTV played their first show two years ago? Gone. The East Village record store that stocked the band's first tape - shuttered. As the band watch their compatriots move out of the city to cheaper pastures, it's as if New York itself is saying: "Drop dead." But the shining "High Flying Faith" -- the first song written for the album -- is a refutation of urban weariness, it's title acting as a makeshift motto for the optimism (and stubbornness) that is key to New York bands like EZTV. It's a song that best shows how EZTV operate: toeing the line between past and present, with a keen ear for experimentation that never lets the songs hew too far into genre nostalgia. Many of the band's foundational inspirations -- the Feelies' jangle, the upside-down pop architecture of Arthur Russell's The Necessaries, Shoes' aching harmonies -- are back in play on their sophomore album, though new instruments and feels abound throughout. The advantage to living in New York? Eventually all your friends come to visit. EZTV invited some like-minds into the studio -- Jenny Lewis, Chris Cohen, Martin Courtney and Matt Kallman of Real Estate, John Andrews of Quilt, Nic Hessler and Mega Bog -- to guest. Aptly recorded on a tape machine purchased from a Lower East Side Studio that was going out of business, in a space where the New York City skyline both loomed and inspired through its glass windows, High in Place is an album of ten golden pop songs worthy of any era.

Two good reasons for Embryo to celebrate, and a perfectly good reason for a new record. “Do It”, one of the slogans of the Beatniks and Hippies of the sixties, has been and still is a statement enormously important to Embryo. Inspired by Dada, the group has changed the slogan to “It Do” and has named their new album accordingly. The Embyro collective has been active for almost fifty years now, always led by their musical leader and visionary Christian Burchard. That Burchard energy has doubled now, as his daughter Marja, who stood on stage with the group the first time when she was only 11 years old, has now stepped into the spotlight. About Embryo: They played right after Jimi Hendrix at his last live show at the Fehmarn Open Air in 1970. They founded the first artist-run independent label in Germany, Schneeball. They played with international musical legends such as Charlie Mariano and Mal Waldron. Embyro were one of the first European bands to combine jazz and rock music. Later they became pioneers of the then still un-named world music genre, with countless travels through Africa and Asia where they were joined by local musicians. An independent band since 1998, Dub inc are nonetheless fully acclaimed by the entire reggae scene. Musica per commenti sonori is a cult series within the diverse world of Italian library music. In the late sixties and seventies, the small record label Costanza Records has published several releases precisely focusing on 'background music', including works of great composers such as Peppino De Luca, Roberto Pregadio, Franco Micalizzi, Vito Thomas, Giancarlo Thomas Puccio Roelens, Riccardo Luciani, and by the protagonists of this long-time due reissue: Sandro Brugnolini and Stefano Torossi. The two musicians, who had also worked together on the masterpiece Feelings (1974), have often collaborated and delivered some of the best Italian library music of all time. Musica per commenti sonori is certainly one of the most interesting. On the two equally split sides of this LP, the first for Torossi and the second for Brugnolini (but it seems that this partition was exclusively dictated by legal demands), there are twelve amazing tracks that will excite lovers of the wildest funk, producers in search of rare breaks, and those with a penchant for the psycho-beat atmospheres of the sixties. Among the most heated tracks featured on Torossi's side, we can't pass over the amazing Sweet-Beat, Interrupted (perhaps the best track of the album) and Repetition while Polyphony, Motuproprio and the closing track Flyer shine on Brugnolini's. Virtually impossible to find, even at astonishing prices, this reissue puts back into the market one of the best examples of 'The Italian Art of Library Music': a genre worldwide envied and collected

Black Marble release their second full-length, It's Immaterial. Their first for Ghostly, It's Immaterial follows up their highly acclaimed debut full-length A Different Arrangement (Hardly Art/October 30, 2012). Still featuring Stewart at the helm along with select collaborators as supplementation, the band's recent shift in locale from East Coast to West Coast lends a great deal to the overall feel of the new album. Pulling from the pre - "Simply Irresistible" days of early Robert Palmer and first wave pioneers such as Silicon Teens, Iron Curtain, Lives of Angels, and Solid Space, Black Marble dialed in on a clear understanding of its own specific sound, showcased most clearly on this new release with Stewart becoming more comfortable in being clear with what he's trying to say, both subjectively, in terms of the stories he's telling and the things he's willing to talk about, and objectively in terms of the lyrics and upfront vocals, while still experimenting with holding things back to produce a sound more claustrophobic and immediate.

At this point, Nick began releasing albums annually compared with his earlier recordings that would see multiple releases per year. Soaring and melodic rock workouts prevail with a notably strong rhythm section making this record another favourite. Eastern tinged opener 'Superseded', 'I Can't Cry' and 17-minute 'House Of Mountains' are exemplary workouts whilst the garage-punk of 'Dolly Bug' takes a different tone as do 'Golden Walks Of London' and 'Queen Of May' which have more traditional British influences. Playing many instruments on the record, Nick continues here to work with his live band with Andy Ward on the drums, Adrian Shaw on bass and guest second guitarist Bari Watts returns (tracks 6 & 12)

The tenth studio album release in less than a decade since and ,Sprawl" - once again - demonstrates Nick's immeasurable song writing power. Automatisme is the electronic music project of Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec-based producer William Jourdain, who has been self-releasing a brilliant series of albums and tracks under this moniker since 2013, exploring various intersections of drone, dub techno, electronica, ambient, electro-acoustic, and noise. Always taking site-specific field recordings as its starting point, and with nominal reliance on synthesizers, Automatisme samples, signal bends, and transforms his source material into deliberate and elemental soundscapes of white and pink noise, spatial drone and methodically additive beats. Momentform Accumulations compiles much of Jourdain's most recent and most rhythmically-driven work. We're very excited to be issuing this as Automatisme's first official full-length physical album release - and while Jourdain continues to pursue his studies in Art History, his practice as a painter and installation artist, and his work at Saint-Hyacinthe's excellent Fréquences record store, we also anticipate diverse and fascinating future recordings from Automatisme that will stake out a multi-faceted identity for this viscerally engaged young producer. Reflecting on a 20 year career that was as influential as it was controversial, the compilation highlights an extraordinary output that staunchly refused to conform to expectation. the lo-fi crunch of ‘The Clearing’ to the spartan electronica of ‘Rocket, Take Your Turn’, Arab Strap were a fearless and resolutely original proposition from the minute the band regaled us all with tales of their ‘First Big Weekend’ back in 1996. Here’s Aidan on the tracklisting for ‘Arab Strap’: “We chose 20 songs - one for each year since we started - and decided to split them into two lots of 10. The first disc’s a kind of best-of, but we just stuck to the more electronic stuff for this - there’s so many different sounds going on in Arab Strap albums, so we wanted to make it a more coherent whole. “The second disc’s filled with rarities from EPs and b-sides and out-takes and stuff, so there’s some louder rock stuff on there. I think all of these songs could’ve been on the albums they were recorded for, but sometimes you’re trying to tell a story and they just don’t fit. This disc is more live drums and rock-y too, so anyone looking for the noise should hopefully be satisfied.
