Walter Bachauer has been an active part of Berlin's electronic and progressive music scene as long as he lived with his greatest achievements being the META MUSIC festivals in Berlin in 1974, 1976 and 1978 while he worked as a line producer at RIAS Berlin.In the early to mid 80s he got back to compose and play music under the pseudonym CLARA MONDSHINE and this is his second out of three albums from 1983 "Memorymetropolis". Easy listening melodies come in smaller doses here despite his fondness for the pop oriented side of the so called "Berlin School". CLARA MONDSHINE was spaced out electronics far from the average radio sound with a clear progressive edge reaching into the avant-garde territory. Polyrhythmic grooves, picturesque lines of sparkling synthesizer notes or cold and majestic tunes.And as we drift further through this record we will experience many different moods that all lead us back to the classic 1970s cosmic and electronic music of TANGERINE DREAM, Klaus Schulze or KRAFTWERK and CLUSTER. CLARA MONDSHINE builds a bridge between the scenes in Berlin and Düsseldorf which Even more than forty years after the initial wave and thirty years after its release this is still a fascinating album.

It's not the first time that DOOMENTIA has been digging the old archives to exhume a long forgotten recording from the golden era of the extreme metal scene, a recent example being the sole two songs recorded by the ephemeral Swedish death masters EGYPT reissued on a glorious 7". Hell, some labels these days seem to live only to restore those ancient pieces of music from obscurity... Still, from time to time, one specific band or demo still knock you in the head by its sheer aggression or energy after all those years. MISCARIAGE is one those bands. On paper, those Germans death merchants had a relatively short lifespan: they lurked for approximately two years in the darkest corridors of the Stuttgart area metal scene and recorded only one proper demo (if you count their live demo tape from '95) before kicking their singer out and switching both name (they then opted for MATRICIDE) and style. Only to fade into oblivion few months later, with only their former bass player Jan Rademaker maintaining later on a somehow profile in the scene with BLIZZARD and RADEMASSAKER... Still, over twenty two years after its initial recording, 'Peace? Justice? Murder!' remains a fine piece of thrash/death history at a time when both sub-genres had been deemed as 'outdated'. Leaning closer in spirit to early INVOCATOR and PESTILENCE or even fellow countrymen DARK MILLENNIUM than to the classic sound of the 80's, they were quite sharp for such a young outfit and had a good sense of melody and even ideas that could be labelled as 'progressive', even if the shouting vocals of Sven Elvers still remains an acquired taste. With its five quite lengthy tracks and unusual take on this classic sound, MISCARIAGE was your typical 'make or break' type of band and even if, indeed, they didn't last very long, this sole twenty-five minutes long recording of theirs is a vibrant snippet of what they could have been...

France seems to be the secret kingdom of. Roger Roger (1911 - 1995), one of the most prolific composers and bandleaders in the field of electronic, experimental music and movie soundtrack music also known as library music, took a turn on the progressive side of the rather fresh electronic sounds back in 1969 under the pseudonym Cecil Leuter. Minimalistic melodies embedded in arrangements of hissing, chirping and bubbling sounds,quite harmless instrumental tunes and creepy electronic noises are added to the entire picture. The further you get through the whole record the more crazy the performances get. The album should rather please folks that love the more twisted and obscure late 60s experimental music and early electronics than pop fanatics. Take a listen and trip through these strange lands of sound if you dare.

Ouh, groove it, baby! Bappi Lahiri is a very busy composer, conductor and music director for the so called "Bollywood" scene. He finally surrendered to electronic music but still puts it into a rather traditional 70s soul / funk context with some Indian flavours added. "Kasam paida karnewale ki" is a 1984 movie and the soundtrack is a beautiful ethno pop album with an utterly haunting groove which originates from the funk, soul and disco elements a dancefloor queen like Donna Summer would kill for. Late 70s black disco music, fused with classical Indian harmonies, guitars and sitars to create a captivating atmosphere. This record is certainly all about dancing and will turn every living room into a steaming hot sexadelic dance party if you throw this onto your turntable and crank it up. Wild and wonderful.

A tiento is a form of keyboard music that originated in Spain in the mid-15th century. Thomas Köner's first encounter with this musical genre goes back to a commission from Frankfurter Gesellschaft für Neue Musik, for which he chose to do an interpretation of Antonio Cabezon's "Tiento del primer tono" (1570). He rearranged and performed the work with gongs, piano, and live electronics in 2012. "Tiento de la Luz" is Köner's second tiento, succeeds "Tiento de las Nieves" (2014) and precedes the upcoming "Tiento de la Oscuridad". While "Tiento de las Nieves" is a work for solo performer and live electronics, the instrumentation of "Tiento de la Luz" is expanded: in addition to Köner's distinct live electronics, there are two piano parts, percussion, and viola da gamba.

A taster from their forthcoming album, their first since 1990's The Search For Xerxes. This limited 7" single features 'Real Cool Baby' taken from the LP along with an exclusive B-side 'Never Never Time' Johnny Moped are an English punk rock group from south London, who once had Chrissie Hynde (later of The Pretenders) and Captain Sensible (later of The Damned) within their ranks. Formed in Croydon in May 1974, the band were a proto-punk band. Initially calling themselves Johnny Moped and the 5 Arrogant Superstars, by August they changed their moniker to Assault and Buggery, then the Commercial Band, before reverting to just Johnny Moped by January 1975. Johnny Moped became one of the pioneering punk bands that played live in the first few months of London's now-legendary Roxy Club. They played two gigs in February 1977, one supporting Eater and one backing The Damned. The following month they played two more, one supporting Slaughter & The Dogs and the other backing The Damned. In April, they were on a bill that included Wire, X-Ray Spex and the Buzzcocks. Johnny Moped's "Hard Lovin' Man" appeared on the hit various artists album Live at the Roxy WC2 (Harvest Records, 1977). The band signed with Chiswick Records and released three singles, including "Little Queenie" (a cover of the Chuck Berry song), and one album - Cycledelic - before splitting up. First single "No-One" later featured on the Chiswick various artists sampler album Long Shots, Dead Certs and Odds On Favourites in 1978, while b-side "Incendiary Device" made number 15 in BBC Radio 1 DJ John Peel's 'Festive Fifty', the so-called 'lost list' of 1977. Sixteen years after its release, the publishers of The Guinness Encyclopedia of Popular Music, named Cycledelic as one of the best fifty punk albums of all-time. Most of the band reformed to record a second album The Search For Xerxes in 1990.

As we age, a growing and ever changing identity is something we never shake. The distance between the magic and awe of a child's mind to the mentality of a teenager is palpable. When you hit your 20s, it's safe to say a few things are different from that time you were 16. Though she maintains some reservations about the implications of something as abstract as identity, Charlie Hilton, known up until now for her work in the band Blouse, has now forged a new one with her debut solo album, Palana. Enlisting Unknown Mortal Orchestra's Jacob Portrait as producer, Hilton freely experimented with diverse sounds and moods - some minimal and some cacophonous - out of the confines of a band structure. "Funny Anyway" is truly stark, featuring only string accompaniments, with Hilton assuming a role akin to a confessional French chanteuse, while "Let's Go to a Party" is Hilton's cheeky take on an icy dance track with thick, bouncing synths and a chorus that echoes "I'm only happy when I'm dancing." Alternatively, tracks like "Pony" harken back to the psychedelic strengths of Blouse, saluting bands like Broadcast and United States of America, and then there's "100 Million," the sole track produced by Woods' Jarvis Taveniere that rounds out the album in a soft, acoustic and light-hearted way with labelmate Mac DeMarco lending his talents on percussion and back-up vocal

Marcello Giombini (1928 - 2003) was a great synthesizer artist and pioneer from Italy. His works date back to the early 60s and maybe even beyond considering his age.This album is a concept album on the zodiac signs and the music it contains could not be more diverse. The elements that unite all the tunes are the entirely synthetic, yet warm analogue sound and the surreal, spaced out atmosphere. There are tunes you will easily recognize as pop songs with a typical 60s approach, there are baroque elements and even pure soundscapes that make you feel like being trapped in the interior of a thinking machine. You can float down a peaceful river of dreams at one point and then become swallowed by a vortex of musical fury that projects a galactic battle before your third eye. In case you love movies such as "The black hole" and enjoy the compositions of other synthesizer heroes like Mort Garson you will certainly hold one of the most precious musical treasures ever in your hands.
