This is a brandnew Soul Radics Production - recorded at Shed Recordings in Nashville. For this album the Band decided to mix it up, do everything differently than they've done in the past. They wanted this record to sound more like the band sounds live, so the focused more on live recording most of early 2016. And it think it worked. "Having just put out a full length, we didn't know exactly what we wanted to do next. We've always made a point to cover classic tunes in our live show, so we decided to track some of those songs as an experiment. We recorded a few versions and they came out sounding really good. At first we thought we'd leave it at that;
maybe do a single, but the sounds we were getting were so great that we decided to keep recording and lay down some originals too." (Dany Casler, Vocals) Soul Radics hit the scene with blistering traditional sounds and gritty soul melodies. Virtually fearless, it's an original take on ska, reggae, and rocksteady with powerful female vocals and heavy, hard-hitting riddims. Formed in Music City USA, Soul Radics have been smashing the gate of ska and reggae music since 2011 an spent the past 3 years supporting countless talented acts and backing legendary Jamaican artists, and are now getting ready to embark on a third European tour. Their primary focus is on promoting contemporary acts while paying homage to the sounds of 1960's era American Soul, Rhythm & Blues and Jamaican Ska, Rocksteady, Reggae and indie-rock music. Mark Morales has been a disc jockey, record collector, and dealer of vintage records for the past 20 years. He has been fundamental in beginning the soul & reggae nightclub scene in Los Angeles through the 1990s to the present day. Wally Caro is an accomplished musician, songwriter and composer in LAs vintage music scenes. Founder of LA local favorite Ska band "Mobtown," Wally has also performed with a slew of different acts over his 20 plus years playing a wide range of music from Ska, Reggae, Soul, to R&B, Rockabilly and Jump Blues in his own bands and backing countless artists. "Rock My Soul! The Valkyrians had been working on new material for a year, taking a step out of their comfort zone, being influenced outside of Ska, Rocksteady and Reggae. New songs were inspired by Soul, Funk and Manchester pop - not forgetting Rock and Roll! With these new songs the band wanted to bring in a producer that could contribute with the band's sound. Lauri Eloranta (Melrose, Pää Kii, Damn Seagulls, French Films) felt like the perfect person for the task and he was eager to join the project, so recordings took place at Lauri's studio in Helsinki. The result is a stunning album with 10 self penned tracks!
