180 GRAM AUDIOPHILE VINYL FIRST TIME ON VINYL Fred Wesley is an American jazz and funk trombonist, best known for his work with James Brown in the 60s and 70s, as well as his work with Parliament-Funkadelic in the second half of the 70s. Wesley became a force in jazz in 1978 when he joined the Count Basie Orchestra. In 2015 Wesley was inducted into the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame. Wuda Cuda Shuda was made during Fred Wesley's 2002 European Tour. The band played in Alençon, Le Havre, Nancy, St Germain, Massy, Zurich, Peer, Marcq en Baroeul, Brainans, St Nazaire, London, Leeds & Chaumont. The LP is called Wuda Cuda Shuda because of all the excuses that were made up for not doing it sooner. "We Wuda done it last year or we Cuda done it when we were in New York or we Shuda done it with the guy from this label or that label and such weak ass procrastinations like that" - Fred Wesley. This LP, as it is with the Fred Wesley Band, is an eclectic collection of rhythms.

180 GRAM AUDIOPHILE VINYL Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Carla Thomas is an American singer, who is often referred to as the Queen of Memphis Soul. She is the daughter of Rufus Thomas. At the age of eight, she was already a "professional" musician: she began singing with a talented teen-age group that performed on a local radio show. She sang on radio up until she graduated from high school. Her dad took Carla along on trips with him outside Memphis, and so she got the taste for show business at a very early age. When Carla's tape with "Ghee Whiz, Look At His Eyes", which she had written herself, was brought to the attention of Atlantic Records, they sensed immediately that this was a potentially big hit-and a big new star! They signed Carla to a long term contract. The debut album Gee Whiz went to the top of the national popularity charts and brought Carla many bids for TV, radio and personal appearances, including the Dick Clark "American Bandstand" show. Next to "Ghee Whiz, Look At His Eyes", this LP also includes "A Love Of My Own", "It Ain't Me" and "For You".

The Shadows of Knight are primarily known for their hit version of "Gloria", originally written by Van Morrison's Northern Irish band Them. At the same time, the band today is regarded as one of the original punk bands. After releasing "Gloria" as a single in December 1965, which received massive regional airplay, the band soon released the Gloria album in the summer of 1966. Subsequent singles included their version of the Bo Diddley song "Oh Yeah" (which reached No. 39 nationally), "Bad Little Woman", and the powerhouse "I'm Gonna Make You Mine". The follow-up album Back Door Men [MOVLP1751] was also released in 1966 and both albums are considered to be seminal garage band albums

It was originally scheduled to be released as a followup album composed of material from recording sessions for his third album, I Am...! Due to bootlegging of the material, Nas decided to record all new material under the title Nastradamus to meet its November 1999 release date. The album includes one of the earliest shots fired in the soon-to-be epic Jay-Z/Nas feud. On Nastradamus' title track, Nas raps "You wanna ball till you fall? / I can help you with that / You want beef? / I could let a slug melt in your hat". The album also includes the single "You Owe Me" featuring Ginuwine. Achieving commercial success, the album was certified Platinum in sales by the RIAA, went to #2 on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart followed by chart positions in Germany and Holland.

180 GRAM AUDIOPHILE VINYL GATEFOLD SLEEVE MONO Blind Willie McTell (May 5, 1898 - August 19, 1959) was a Piedmont blues and ragtime singer and guitarist. He played with a fluid, syncopated fingerstyle guitar technique, common among many exponents of Piedmont blues. Unlike his contemporaries, he came to use twelve-string guitars exclusively. McTell was also an adept slide guitarist, unusual among ragtime bluesmen. His vocal style, a smooth and often laid-back tenor, differed greatly from many of the harsher voices of Delta bluesmen such as Charley Patton. McTell's influence extended over a wide variety of artists, including the Allman Brothers Band, who covered his "Statesboro Blues," and Bob Dylan, who paid tribute to him in his 1983 song "Blind Willie McTell," the refrain of which is "And I know no one can sing the blues like Blind Willie McTell." Other artists influenced by McTell include Taj Mahal, Alvin Youngblood Hart, Ralph McTell, Chris Smither and the White Stripes.

180 GRAM AUDIOPHILE VINYL The Pentangle was the 1968 debut album of the band Pentangle: Terry Cox, Bert Jansch, Jacqui McShee, John Renbourn and Danny Thompson. It brought together their separate influences of folk, jazz, blues, early music and contemporary song-writing. One of the band's most commercially successful albums, it reached number 21 in the British charts. By the time that the album was produced, the members of Pentangle were already accomplished musicians, in their own fields, and had played together in various combinations. Jansch and Renbourn were recognised as solo artists and played together regularly, including their recording of the Bert And John album. McShee had sung folk and blues in pubs and clubs, and had recorded with Renbourn on Another Monday. Cox and Thompson were experienced session musicians and had played together in Alexis Korner's band.
