Two years after the release of “Steelcrusher”, many shows and presentations on festivals and after conquering more and more fans, the Israeli Thrash Metal war machine HAMMERCULT is back to the front. Untamed, unrest, and still as aggressive as predator, they now are coming with their third and best album to date, “Built for War”. Their music still as aggressive and impacting as always, but their melodies are more evident (especially in the guitar solos), as some influences from traditional Heavy Metal, and even bits of MOTORHEAD touches in some moments. Yakir still singing as aggressive as always with his high pitched tunes, but he is using some clean voices and hardcore tunes as well. Guy and newcomer Yuval are forming a perfect duo in guitars, creating excellent and massive riffs, and great and melodic solos, and Elad Manor (bass) and Maayan (Drums) are creating a destructive, technical and heavy rhythmic basis. EAT THE GUN will release their fifth studio album Howlinwood. The band will once again collaborate with label partner SPV/Steamhammer. The musical reorientation on the 2013 release Stripped To The Bone was game-changing for EAT THE GUN and rewarded by the European music press with tremendous praise of the album and the band. BLACK TRIP's first all-killer-no-filler album "Goin' Under", released in 2014 (2013 in Scandinavia), was soaked in the true spirit of the NWOBHM and showed that great heavy metal music still can be made. With bands like IRON MAIDEN, SAXON, THIN LIZZY and '70s-era SCORPIONS amongst their influences, BLACK TRIP really paid both homage and respect to the classic metal sound that runs through the veins of every metalhead, and yet they have their own distinct sound and direction. Now, two years on from that critcally acclaimed debut they are about to release their second album, "Shadowline", which vocalist Joseph Tholl describes as "a bigger, more diverse and more personal album, but still dark, heavy metal rock". Guitarist Peter Stjärnvind adds: "The album whilst heavy is also groovy and catchy and just makes you feel happy in a really good way." Joseph continues: "When 'Goin' Under' was being shaped, it was, basically, just me and Peter. But during that time we got offered gigs here in Sweden before we even had a band, so very quickly we had to get the other guys on board so we could play these gigs and record the album. Me and Jonas [Wikstrand; drums] didn't know the other guys that well so we've all been on this journey, getting to know each other and growing together as a band. "We all love heavy metal, that's the common bond that binds us, but we all have our different tastes and different musical backgrounds because me and Jonas are from a different musical generation than Peter, Sebastian and Johan. "With the writing and recording of 'Shadowline', we have grown together and it really feels like we have become a band now. We've influenced each other and we've begun to understand what our potential is, what we can do and what we can't do. Every band member has contributed in one way or another to the shaping of this album and following on from what we did on 'Goin' Under' this was a very natural step for us. "With the first album, we were establishing the foundations of our sound, now with 'Shadowline', we have started to build the framework of the band." Speaking about the influences for "Shadowline", it's clear the whole process isn't an exact science for BLACK TRIP. Peter doesn't plan the songs, he just lets the mood take him and whatever comes out comes out. Two bands he has listened to constantly during this time are GEORDIE, particularly the album "Don't Be Fooled by the Name" and BLUE ÖYSTER CULT. "It's all about those little details and feelings that just blow you away!" says Peter enthusiastically. "Shadowline" was recorded and mixed by Nicke Andersson (ENTOMBED, HELLACOPTERS, IMPERIAL STATE ELECTRIC) at his studio The Honk Palace in February/March 2015. All being fans of his bands and his musical taste and approach to sound, they felt he was someone they could trust to get the very best in the studio. The recording went really smoothly and Andersson has definitely captured the sound and feel of the essence of what BLACK TRIP are all about. Says Joseph: "Nicke was totally on our wavelength from the start and during the recording process it felt like he was more or less one of us." Peter adds: "His all-around input was just great. He would suggest simple things, like going from a 4/4 time to double time on the hi-hat to give that extra drive. German Heavy Metal Guitar Wizard Axel Rudi Pell celebrated his 25th anniversary as a solo artist with a once-in-a-lifetime performance at the ‘Bang Your Head’ Festival on July 11th 2014, in Balingen, Germany, featuring a stellar line-up of famous invited friends (alongside his current band line-up), in front of over 15,000 fans. Now every fan worldwide can watch that amazing show: ‘Magic Moments – 25th Anniversary Special Show’ on 3CD, 3DVD and Blu-Ray, capturing the whole show (one that is unlikely to ever be seen again in this constellation). A whole host of legendary guest vocalists, including former ARP Band singers Rob Rock (1991) and Jeff Scott Soto (1991-1997), plus Dougie White (Yngwie Malmsteen, Rainbow), Graham Bonnet (Rainbow, MSG), John Lawton (Uriah Heep), Ronnie Atkins (Pretty Maids) and Michael Voss (Mad Max, Bonfire) as well as current (1998 – Present) front man Johnny Gioeli, graced the stage on that amazing night. Former drummer Joerg Michael (Running Wild, Stratovarius), celebrated tub thumper Vinnie Appice (Dio, Black Sabbath), and ex-Rainbow keyboard player Tony Carey, as well as the entire original line-up of Axel’s first band, Steeler, also took to the stage during the three hour set. It took almost a year to set everything up. “The actual organisation started in the summer of 2013 when the promoter and I went public with the idea of this event,” Axel tells with obvious relief. He´s still happy about how things have turned out. With a little help from his friends at his booking agency, the Bochum guitarist set up an extraordinary line-up. “It was mostly all about personal contacts”, because after more than 30 years in the business Axel Rudi Pell is not only well-known, but also well-respected in the worldwide rock community, so the affix “& Friends“ is not one of those usual exaggerations. Almost all of his favoured candidates agreed on this one July date. As Axel is an early bird, the whole organisation was fairly easy. Of course there were rehearsals, but only one day before the show. Over fifty minutes worth of footage from those remarkable sessions are featured on the DVD and Blu-ray versions of this package. During those sessions Axel realized that something unique was happening. “Everybody involved had a blast and was right on track,” he remembers. Unfortunately, Doogie White had a prior engagement with Michael Schenker on that rehearsal day, but was replaced with ARP frontman Johnny Gioeli. And except for Charlie Huhn, who had already agreed to play a gig in the USA with his current band Foghat, Axel´s former singers turned out in full force. After a historical four-song Steeler reunion at the beginning of the show. Axel´s current lineup put on a best-of show with a blisteringly atmospheric version of the Neil Young classic “Hey Hey My My“ and a few epic ARP classics like “Mystica“, “The Masquerade Ball“, “Casbah“ and “Into The Storm“. You could feel those goose bumps spring up, and the climax was still to come: after a furioso battle between drum gods Vinnie Appice and Bobby Rondinelli, a long list of rock legends took the Balingen stage: stepping in for Joe Lynn Turner, who was tied up with business affairs, Pretty Maids frontman Ronnie Atkins performed a superb version of Deep Purple´s “Black Night“, including audience sing along. Then John Lawton, the former voice of Uriah Heep, demonstrated why he still deserves a lot of “Sympathy“ (Uriah Heep), and he was still looking for some “Tush“ (ZZ Top). When ex-Rainbow keyboard player Tony Carey joined in for an emotional “Mistreated“, the now available Doogie White and Johnny Gioeli set the roof on fire. Graham Bonnet, another Rainbow veteran from the glorious “Down To Earth“ era, remembered the good old times with “Since You Been Gone“ and, of course, the aforementioned “Long Live Rock´n´Roll“.
