The includes Jet's most popular song, "Are You Gonna Be My Girl". Get Born received generally positive reviews from contemporary music critics. Jet entered the Sunset Sound Studios in Los Angeles with Dave Sardy to produce their debut album Get Born. Sardy had previously produced records for Marilyn Manson and The Dandy Warhols. The band left the recording studios halfway through recording the album to support the Rolling Stones on their 2003 Australian tour. The album's lead single, "Are You Gonna Be My Girl", was often singled out due to distinct similarities to Iggy Pop's "Lust for Life". The song featured a near-identical guitar riff, as well as a drum pattern markedly similar to that of Pop's well-known song. The band argued that "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" had more in common with '60s Motown, however - namely songs such as "I'm Ready for Love" by Martha And The Vandellas and "You Can't Hurry Love" by The Supremes. 2009 sees the verdict on Gorgoroth's trademark case after two years of dispute between Gaahl/King Ov Hell and Infernus for the rights of the band's name and logo. For a band with only one six songs demo (officially released later on tape format) under their belts, EXPANDER have already made waves far beyond their native Austin. Edward Joseph Mahoney, a Brooklyn-born second-generation cop who eventually ditched his badge and gun to pursue his rock star dreams as Eddie Money — struck gold right off the bat with his 1977 self-titled debut album. The record's leadoff single, "Baby Hold On", was actually its biggest hit, but the follow-up single "Two Tickets To Paradise", was a sort of spiritual cousin to Bruce Springsteen‘s "Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)". It's written from the perspective of a young guy who's desperately trying to convince his girlfriend to ignore her disapproving parents and come away with him »on a trip so far away from here.« With its smooth production, urgent uptempo chorus, and insistent melodic hook, "Tickets" was a natural for late '70s FM radio — where it found an immediate home, eventually working its way all the way up to No. 22 on the Billboard Hot 100. Although Money might have written "Two Tickets To Paradise" to convince a specific girl to leave town with him, its title became shorthand for that end-of-the-work-week feeling you get when you've fulfilled all of your responsibilities to the Man and you're free to relax without obligations for a little while — like, say, at an Eddie Money concert, where "Tickets" has remained a constant fixture of the set list for more than 30 years. All (good) things must come to an end. DARKCREED never played by the rules in the first place - yet few could have predicted such an unusual career, if you could call it that. One might say that in the 20 years since they formed in Mexico City, they haven't achieved much but as their singer and spokesman Andrés Furukawa said himself: It's about quality, not quantity. Despite having only released two demos and one EP (ark Regions'), their legacy extends beyond such a meagre discography. After relocating to Sweden, Furukawa contributed lyrics to the song audanum Dreams' on TRIBULATION's, hildren of the Night' (2015). He also oversaw the making of the esurrected in Festering Slime' (2008) compilation that paved the way for the resurgence of real death metal in Scandinavia. Having never done things according to the norm (no live gigs, no promo pictures) it was as if the band lay dormant -and in a way, they did. In 2015 the inevitable decision to split up became official. Pressed in a limited edition of 500 copies. Disc 1 is their 1980 self-titled LP, disc 2 is their 1981 10" EP repressed as a 12", and disc 3 is their 1981 3x 7" flexi discs entitled Documentario along with unreleased bonus tracks. Each LP in the box includes its own cover and printed inner sleeves. A happening, maybe you can call it that. One of the most original and unique bands to ever come out of Italy, one of the few bands able to switch from the prog-rock era to dislocated art forms, painting their music with traces of early electronica and a very typical post-punk twist (read: no wave). A bridge linked the band from Bologna (rock) to the musical past & present of the nation, with senses of urgency & creativity on top, a revolutionary aesthetic revealed between the lines. No lyrics indeed, the music was truly instrumental, no social issues, but a future no less narrow was recalled by their sonic scenario. It's really hard to pin-point the band, they even re-created a singular version of the Sanremo hit "Volare" (Domenio Modugno) in a truly devolved way. The Italian soundtrack went through shock therapy in the exotic manifesto' Samba Paperino' and in the jazz-rock ostinato of ronipoti'. Released in 2001, the album debuted at number 7 on the Billboard 200 and ultimately sold 1 million copies in the US and was certified platinum. The fourth single from the album, "Pass the Courvoisier Part II", peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. On Genesis, the beats seem darker and more synth-oriented, giving it an edge reminiscent of the bass-heavy G-funk sound. "As I Come Back" is a good example, featuring a sustained keyboard note droning on throughout the chorus with Busta rapping in his raspy style. Busta Rhymes can also make a good dance song, like the hypnotic "What It Is," a fractured funk anthem that features robotic female vocals from Kelis and a slow beat consisting of clicks and snaps. Other guest appearances include P. Diddy's turn on the dramatic "Pass the Courvoisier," Mary J.
