Spirit достигли творческого пика, представив концептуальную работу, которую многие восприняли как собственный "Sgt. Pepper". Благодаря лирическим идеям, основанным на научно-фантастической тематике, и духовым инструментам, дополняющим обычную группу, альбом представил Spirit в новом измерении. Продюсером 12 треков оригинальной пластинки выступил Дэвид Бриггс, наиболее известный по работе с Элисом Купером известным по работе с Элисом Купером и Нилом Янгом, и варьируются по настроению от проникновенных баллад до рокерских рейверов. Среди них выделяются такие песни, как "Nature's Way" и "Morning Will Come", написанные гитаристом Рэнди Калифорнией. Несмотря на то, что поклонники признали альбом шедевром, мечты группы закончились, когда она распалась вскоре после выхода альбома в 1970 г.
