For the past 15 years OPETH have managed to tread their very own path through a scene full of wannabes and traditionalists without ever heeding "metal laws" or fashion trends. Death metal was trasnformed into a melting pot in the hands of OPETH who added goth, 70s-prog-rock, folk and even elements of jazz with great skill transcending each genre in turn. After their sonic double assault that was "Deliverance" and "Damnation" - one heavy to the point of bursting, the latter ballad-oriented - no-one thought it possible that OPETH would be able to cap it all off with "Ghost Reveries". They did so with ease. Изначально задуманные легендарными шведскими металистами как один войной альбом, "Deliverance" и "Damnation" в итоге были выпущены по отдельности, в 2002 и 2003 годах соответственно. Эту историческую погрешность Music For Nations исправили почти 15 лет спустя, в 2015 году, выпустив эти альбомы вместе в одном бокссете.

Виниловое издание релиза включило новый стерео ремастеринг обоих альбомов на трех 180-граммовых пластинках, сделанный Bruce Stoord (Deliverance) и Steve Wilson (Damnation), а также переделанный артворк от оригинального дизайнера альбомов Трэвиса Смита. Мастер для винила сделал Jaime Gomez.

Opeth — метал-группа из Швеции. Для музыки Opeth характерно тяжелое дэт-металическое звучание с добавлением мелодичных партий акустической гитары, элементов джаза, блюза и прогрессивного рока 1970-х годов. Вокалист Микаэль Окерфельдт использует как чистый вокал, так и гроулинг. Название группы взято из книги Уилбура Смита The Sunbird, где «Opet» было названием вымышленного города.
