REVEL IN FLESH was formed by Haubersson (Ex-IMMORTAL RITES) in late 2011. The debut album “Deathevokation” was recorded as a duo with long-time comrade Maggesson (DAWN OF DREAMS, APOPHIS etc.) and was highly acclaimed within the underground scene. The album was produced and mixed in Maggesson's VAULT M. Studios and mastered at UNISOUND Studios by Dan Swanö (EDGE OF SANITY, BLOODBATH etc.). From that point Dan Swanö was involved in all productions of the band so far. Another really important person regarding the visual presentation of the band has been the rising Spanish cover artist Juanjo Castellano, who has been responsible for all album covers, several T-Shirt designs and illustrations thus far. In spring 2012 the band grew into a full force live band when Vögtsson (Ex- CHAOSREIGN, GRAVEN etc.) on Drums and the two Ex-DEATHVASTATION youngsters Herrmannsgard (Guitars) and Götzberg (Bass) joined. In May 2012 they played their very first show with PAGANIZER from Sweden. The already 3rd gig for REVEL IN FLESH took place on the tent stage of PARTY.SAN Festival and support shows for bands like EVOCATION, DEAD, FLESHCRAWL, BRUJERIA plus a gig at the NOCTURNUS-Festival followed. In spring 2013 the 2nd longplayer “Manifested darkness” was unleashed. This time the band recruited Dan Swanö for a proper mix & master job and the result offered a major step forward in terms of sound but most of all the whole way of songwriting and expression got much more of a very own touch. More live shows were played (e.g. with VENENUM, OBSCENITY, LAY DOWN ROTTEN or DEADBORN, and at festivals like SUMMER BREEZE, PROTZEN and NRW DEATHFEST) and especially the mini tour with PUTERAEON and the first foreign show in Barcelona (with GRAVEYARD) were kinda milestones for the band. In 2014 REVEL IN FLESH released several split-7” EPs (w/ PUTERAEON, FERAL, GRAVE WAX and THE DEAD GOATS) and played more great shows with ENTRAILS, HOLY MOSES, FLESHCRAWL or KATAKLYSM and festivals like IN FLAMMEN. After fulfilling their old contract REVEL IN FLESH signed a new deal with the already familiar business partner CYCLONE EMPIRE. The release of highly acclaimed 3rd album “Death Kult Legions” in December 2014 brought a massive push to their reputation within the worldwide Death Metal community. REVEL IN FLESH went on their great path of death, released some split-7"s (with HUMILIATION, ZOMBIFICATION and WOMBBATH) and played loads of cool shows (e.g. SUMMER BREEZE OPEN AIR, CHRONICAL MOSHERS OPEN AIR, PROTZEN OPEN AIR, DEATHFEAST OPEN AIR...) and smaller tours with PUTERAEON, GRAVEYARD (ESP), FLESHCRAWL, SOULBURN, DESASTER and many more. Now by the end of 2016 after 2 years of songwriting and recording REVEL IN FLESH are back with their 4th and probably most melodic album thus far. "Emissary Of All Plagues" is the next logical step in combining atmosphere, groove and pure Death Metal brutality executed in their very own revelish way! On the 2nd of December 2016 the plague will be unleashed! BEWARE!!!

Half a decade in the making, the self-titled debut from Joshua Tree’s Of the Horizon will see release through Kozmik Artifactz on Nov. 18. The band has a decent portion of the material streaming now, though whether those are the final versions or if something’s changed in the last five years is anyone’s guess, but either way, their blend of heavy desert psych and crunching, Sleep-style riffing on “3 Feet,” which you can hear below, should give you some general idea what they’re getting up to. Or what they got up to circa 2011, anyhow. I suppose they could pretty much be doing anything at this point, including not being a band since last I heard, bassist Kayt Vigil was in Italy and playing in Sonic Wolves.

I’m probably too biased to be writing this review. It’s hard to be critical of your friends’ work and that’s what MF Ruckus are, my friends. I’ve known the majority of the band’s members, both past and present, for years as we’ve partied on the same stages and in the same dirty green rooms of Denver and, every time I listen to or have the opportunity to watch this magnificent collection of musicians, I can’t help but smile like I’m privy to some inside joke. Y’see, MF Ruckus (or The Motherfuckin’ Ruckus, when your mother isn’t around) has developed into one of the most over-the-top bands in town, reaching back to what they consider rock ‘n roll’s holy days when bands mixed equal parts sex and drugs with their riffage. Most of these guys cut their teeth playing punk rock but they’ve developed into one of the tightest hard rock bands around. I’ve previously described them as some underground hybrid of Thin Lizzy, The Dwarves and Valient Thor with their latest album, Thieves of Thunder, and, as I give it another listen, I’m not sure that description does them justice. Sure, one could find elements of all those bands: the slick guitar leads and driving rhythms from Thin Lizzy, the tongue-in-cheek raunchiness of The Dwarves and the pounding, jean-vest swagger of Valient Thor. However, MF Ruckus have developed into a beast all their own, fine-tuning a blend of 70s/80s rock and metal with the occasional twang of Southern rock. The opening title track launches out the gate at an epic gallop and introduces the album with big guitars and even bigger vocals. “Talk All Day (Don’t Say Shit)” is like a sleazy night on the Sunset Strip. “Hall of Champions” is filled with a slight Bruce Dickinson falsetto and vibrato and a groove that will make you headbang with confidence. There’s no denying the infectiousness of “Gasoline (For My Party Machine)” as it jumps from spit-flying, lightning fast licks and lyrics into a chorus that should be on every jukebox in America for a proper night of revelry. It’s like Ted Nugent showed up, minus the craziness and racism, and, with the mighty power of rock, dropped all the panties in the room and gave every guy a raging hard-on, leaving them in a pool of their own juices and begging for more. Sorry for all the hyperbole, but MF Ruckus is pretty much drenched in it. To musicians who take themselves too seriously, the band can come off as equal parts cheese and sleaze: a Spinal Tap for the modern age that seems to magnify rock-and-roll stereotypes in a grasp for nostalgia. However, that couldn’t be further from the truth. MF Ruckus are here to play guitar parts that your band can’t play, make bold, declarative, debaucherous statements that your meek singer would never dare utter and to have more fun than every shoegazer, arm-crosser and naysayer in the room
