Группа The Dandy Warhols объявила о выпуске нового альбома! Альбом, получивший название "Distortland", будет выпущен на лейбле Dine Alone Records (дистрибьютор - Caroline Universal) и станет дебютным для группы! Недавно группа уже представила альбомный трек "You're Killing Me", первую новую песню с альбома 2012 года "This Machine". Stereogum охарактеризовал трек как "эффективный ушной червь, который напоминает мне о The Cars, как ни странно, но все еще имеет старую красивую стоунер-красоту".

Группа The Dandy Warhols образовалась в Портленде, штат Орегон, и состоит из Кортни Тейлор (вокал, гитара), Зии МакКейб (клавишные), Питера Холмстрома (гитара) и Брента ДеБоера (ударные). Distortland был сначала записан в подвале Тейлора на кассетный магнитофон 80-х годов, а затем отправился в студию для окончательной доводки. Микшированием альбома занимался Джим Лоу (Jim Lowe), известный по работе с Тейлор Свифт и Бейонсе. On Thursday April 6th 1995, five years before the refrain of "...I Like You..." from their 2000 hit song "Bohemian Like You" permeated all known media and stuck forever in the memory banks of music fans worldwide, and eight years before they recorded the song that would become the theme song of the popular tv series Veronica Mars, The Dandy Warhols released their debut album Dandys Rule, Ok? [BTW-002LP] on the now defunct Tim/Kerr Records. The album not only showcased the raw seeds of inspiration that would develop into the full on psyche-pop powerhouse the Dandy's would become but is also an oft overlooked self-contained garage psyche-pop masterpiece in its own right. Portland Oregon based Schizophonic Records is proud to be re-issuing this masterpiece on vinyl in celebration of its 20th anniversary. The question posed by the title of The Dandy Warhols first record is simple, as is the answer. David Bowie answered the question when he asked the Dandys to open for him on tour in 2003. The release, produced by The Dandy Warhols and Jeremy Sherrer, is made up of eleven songs written by Courtney Taylor-Taylor, Brent DeBoer, Zia McCabe, and guests David J (Love and Rockets, Bauhaus) and Miles Zuniga (Fastball). This Machine is the Dandy's 8th official studio album and was recorded over the course of 2011 at The Dandy Warhols rock clubhouse/entertainment megaplex/studio The Odditorium. The band recorded the album with their longtime engineer - producer Jeremy Sherrer. Taylor-Taylor describes this record as "stripped down, woody and extremely guitar centric." The album was mixed Tchad Blake who also mixed The Dandy Warhols Odditorium or Warlords of Mars and Come Down. Tchad is well known for his recent work with The Black Keys, Blitzen Trapper and Pearl Jam. The album cover for This Machine was painted by local Portland, Oregon painter Hickory Mertsching. Famed Science Fiction writer Richard Morgan penned the band s official Bio for This Machine. It s 4 short stories that do a much better job entertaining than this bullet point list. You can read the bio here. Stand out track, Autumn Carnival was co authored by Courtney Taylor Taylor and David J of Love and Rockets. About the album, Courtney says, "We've been told that it s our gothiest. I thought it was our grungiest so I'm really hoping it s a hit with goths who are...um, really outdoorsy?"
