Сольный дебют Петера Бауманна "Romance 76" имел большой успех. На втором альбоме "Trans Harmonic Nights" 1979 года клавишник еще больше эмансипировался от своей бывшей группы Tangerine Dream и зазвучал по-другому, но не менее блестяще. From 1971 to 1977, Peter Baumann was a member of the legendary Berlin band TANGERINE DREAM. The group were pioneers of the so called Berliner Schule (Berlin School) which had such a profound im - pact on electronic music. He produced a number of momentous al - bums at his Paragon Studio (by the likes of Conrad Schnitzler, Clus - ter, Hans-Joachim Roedelius) and also enjoyed success as a solo ar - tist. His first two solo works are now being reissued with extensive li - ner notes and rare photographs. The influence of Tangerine Dream can clearly be heard on “Romance 76”, although the arrangements are comparatively minimalist—a state of affairs for which David Bo - wie can be held partially responsible (see below). With Peter Baumann on board, Tangerine Dream grew into one of the most influential bands in electronic Krautrock, sited somewhere between experi - mental electronica and progressive rock. Open to new ideas, Baumann’s positive aura and eagerness to experiment galvanized the band’s music al - most instantaneously. His catchy melodies, rich in positivity, propelled Tan - gerine Dream into the charts. After five years of chart appearances and extensive touring through Europe and North America, punctuated by several albums—including “Atem”, John Peel’s nominated import album of 1973—Baumann called time on his solo career with “Romance 76”. “We found some time between tours and record productions, so Edgar recorded a solo disc and helped Christoph and me to develop our own music too. ‘Romance 76’ resulted from the urge to create new music . I felt we had begun repeating ourselves in Tangerine Dream and I was keen to discover new things, to carry on experimenting. Improvisation had been common to us all, but on your own it isn’t quite so simple. I started to work on my own pieces . ” This shift in focus led him to leave Tangerine Dream towards the end of 1977. He and a friend set up the Paragon Studio in Berlin, which would earn a prominent place in music production history, but that’s another story . Still a member of the band in 1976, Baumann rented a hall in the ufaFabrik, Berlin to record “Romance 76”. Sonic similarities to Tangerine Dream can be explained by the fact that the group used the same space for gig re - hearsals, giving Baumann access to their instruments. The distinctive sound of a modular synthesizer system christened “The Big One” can be detected on “Romance 76”, for example, along with a Mellotron. Some tracks on the album, such as “ Romance” an d “ Phase By Phase” , are relatively minimalist in character. This airiness lends the unusual synth sounds space to unfold in all their glory. A state of affairs for which David Bowie is partially responsible, as Baumann recalls: “We were in Berlin and met him for dinner, then he would call in while I was recording the album, listening carefully to what I was working on. I explained to him what still needed to be done, but Bowie suggested: ‘Leave it as it is, there’s enough there already.’” At which point Baumann decided to look at the tracks in question as finished. Secretly Canadian is honored to partner with Chimera Music on releasing Yoko Ono's musical output from 1968 to 1985. Comprised of eleven studio albums, the reissue project's focus is to painstakingly reconstruct the original vinyl packaging, to thoroughly excavate and appropriately curate the treasure-laden archives of never-before-seen photos and ephemera, and to re-master the audio, all for the purpose of creating the definitive editions of this timeless work. In addition to making the vinyl available for the first time in decades. Secretly Canadian and Chimera Music couldn't be more proud to be a part of re-introducing Yoko Ono's seminal work. The first batch to be reissued will be 1968's Unfinished Music No. 1: Two Virgins, 1969's Unfinished Music No. 2: Life With The Lions, and 1970's Plastic Ono Band. Turns out the very sound of falling in love is just as abstract, subjective and loopy as the concept itself. Yoko Ono and John Lennon are two of history's greatest lovers, and Two Virgins is the musique concrète fever dream document of the pair falling in love in real time. The album is a curious and amazing suite recorded over one weekend in Spring 1968 at Lennon's Kenwood home: Distant conversations; comedic role playing and footsteps; laughter, birdcalls and plunking piano lines; silly songs and space; tape delay stretching shrieks, bass rumbles and moans to the moon and back again. It's two young people attempting to weird one another out, attempting to make one another laugh, falling deeply into one another. John mucks around with delay and loops while Yoko exercises her expressionist vocalizations. The smoke and wine is nearly audible. Ремастеринг легендарного альбома

С альбомом "No Earthly Connection" Рик Уэйкман представляет переиздание своего легендарного шестого студийного альбома в 2016 году.

первоначально альбом "No Earthly Connection" был выпущен в мае 1976 года. После мирового турне 1975 года Уэйкман в январе 1976 года отправился в замок Эрувиль (Франция), чтобы записать новый альбом со своей бэк-группой The English Rock Ensemble.

В состав группы вошли Уэйкман (клавишные, орган, синтезаторы, фортепиано и др.), Эшли Холт (вокал), Роджер Ньюэлл (бас, вокал), Джон Данстервиль (гитары, вокал), Тони Фернандес (барабаны, перкуссия), Мартин Шилдс (труба, рожок, вокал) и Рег Брукс (тромбон, вокал).

Для переиздания все песни с "No Earthly Connection" были ремастированы Эндрю Уолтом в лондонской студии Abbey Road.

Помимо стандартного CD, существует также делюксовое издание. Оно содержит бонусный CD с записью концерта в Hammersmith Odeon в 1976 году.

Альбом также будет переиздан на виниле. Оригинальный LP содержал небольшую квадратную пластинку из светоотражающего пластика, которую можно было свернуть в цилиндр. Ее можно было положить на обложку, чтобы увидеть обложку без искажений и с 3D-эффектом. Эта пластинка также включена в виниловое переиздание.

И наконец: в 2016 году альбом Рика Уэйкмана "No Earthly Connection" вернулся на CD и LP, причем полностью ремастированный.

Поклонники Рианны давно ждали этого момента: практически в одночасье поп-икона представила свой новый альбом "Anti".

С момента выхода ее последней пластинки "Unapologetic" прошло четыре года. С тех пор неоднократно появлялись слухи о новом альбоме Рианны. И вот в конце января случился сюрприз.

"Anti" - восьмой студийный альбом певицы, но редко когда музыкальные влияния на пластинке Рианны были столь разнообразны: соул, R'n'B, фанк, джаз, местами немного дабстепа и, конечно, поп. На этот раз обошлось без электронных элементов, которые были характерны и для предыдущего альбома.

Первое официальное предвкушение "Anti" появилось 27 января 2016 года с синглом "Work" - R'n'B-композицией с явным оттенком регги. Для ее создания певица привлекла канадского рэпера Дрейка, с которым ранее уже выпустила две совместные песни. Еще одной особенностью альбома стала открывающая композиция "Consideration" - дуэт с певицей SZA.

Помимо двенадцати оригинальных песен, "Anti" также содержит необычную кавер-версию. песня "Same Ol' Mistakes" изначально принадлежит психоделической рок-группе Tame Impala.

Для истинных поклонников Рианны альбом также доступен в виде делюкс-версии. Эта версия также содержит три новые композиции певицы.

Рианне уже давно не нужно ничего доказывать музыкальному миру, но со своим новым альбомом "Anti" она все равно это делает: она по-прежнему остается бесспорной королевой поп-музыки и R'n'B.

JOE BONAMASSA HONOURS “THE THREE KINGS” ON “LIVE AT THE GREEK THEATRE” CD/DVD/BLUR-RAY/3LP - OVER TWO HOURS OF SOME OF THE GREATEST BLUES SONGS EVER WRITTEN HIGHLIGHTED IN A CELEBRATION OF BLUES HERITAGE On September 23rd, Grammy-nominated blues-rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa will deliver “Live at the Greek Theatre” – a 22-track Double CD, Double DVD, Blu-ray, and 3-LP Deluxe Edition tribute to three of the greatest bluesmen to ever live – Albert King, B.B. King and Freddie King. Joe Bonamassa - Live at the Greek Live at the Greek Theatre showcases ‘The Three Kings’ tour of 2015 – a 14-date US amphitheater tour that culminated at famed Los Angeles venue The Greek. Bonamassa celebrates the trio of blues icons with over two hours of some the greatest blues songs ever written. The release includes a collector’s edition booklet, and several bonus features containing behind-the-scenes footage and more. Playing on a warm summer night to a nearly sold-out crowd, Bonamassa’s handpicked set list of songs was called “spectacular” by Premier Guitar; Los Angeles Times said the show“had swing and polish” and that “Bonamassa evoked the signature licks of all three icons while managing to put his own stamp on things.” Songs ranged from blues standards to deep cuts, including “Born Under A Bad Sign”, “Lonesome Whistle Blues”, “Hummingbird”, “Let The Good Times Roll” and, of course, B.B. King’s famed “The Thrill Is Gone” as the evening closer. For Bonamassa, the tour’s importance deepened significantly when B.B., his friend and mentor, passed away two months before it began. “My only regret is that B.B. was not alive to see it” said Bonamassa. Showcasing “magnificent guitar playing” (The Morning Call), Bonamassa introduced a steady rotation of vintage guitars, including four Gibson ES models, a Gibson Les Paul, a Gibson Flying V, two new Gibson Custom Shop models, two Fender Strats, and a 1972 Dan Erlewine custom Flying V named “Lucy”, originally owned and played by Freddie King and currently in the collection of actor Steven Seagal. Joe Bonamassa [Photo by Christie Goodwin] Joe Bonamassa // Photo by Christie Goodwin The eleven-piece band included Anton Fig (drums), Kirk Fletcher (guitar), Michael Rhodes (bass), Reese Wynans (piano, Hammond organ), Lee Thornburg (trumpet, horn arrangements), Paulie Cerra (saxophone), Nick Lane (trombone), and a trio of backup singers including Mahalia Barnes, Jade MacRae, and Juanita Tippins. Live at the Greek Theatre continues Bonamassa’s tradition of honoring incredible concert venues like the Royal Albert Hall, the Vienna Opera House, Radio City Music Hall, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and the Beacon Theater. As with all Bonamassa DVD shoots, the performance at the Greek offered a unique presentation of this historical music. This tour was a continuation of the celebration of our blues heritage, which began with the 2014 production of Joe Bonamassa – Muddy Wolf at Red Rocks, a tribute to the music of Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf. Both tours gave a portion of proceeds to presenting partner Keeping the Blues Alive Foundation, a non-profit Bonamassa founded in 2011 that promotes the heritage of the blues to the next generation, funds music scholarships, and supplements the loss of music education in public schools. Bonamassa’s most recent studio album, Blues of Desperation, released March 25, marks his 16th #1 Blues album on the Billboard charts, more than any other artist, and landed at #5 on the Billboard Top Album Sales, his highest charting yet in the US. French pianist Alexandre Tharaud takes on the blockbuster ‘Rach 2’ concerto in a thrilling performance with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Russian maestro Alexander Vedernikov. It is coupled with more intimate Rachmaninov for piano six-hands (for which Alexandre is flanked by Alexander Melnikov and Aleksandar Madžar) and the icing on the cake: a sublime Vocalise in the original version for voice and piano, with pure-voiced French soprano Sabine Devieilhe. Alexandre Tharaud’s recorded catalogue is large and eclectic, but this is the first time he has devoted an entire album to Russian repertoire – specifically to the music of Sergei Rachmaninov. “I was still quite young when I first played this concerto,” explains Tharaud. “I adored it … Rachmaninov’s virtuosity really appeals to young pianists. Today, of course I’m still enthralled by the concerto’s virtuosity, but now I’m more interested in its dark shadows: the sense of despair, of staring into the abyss. My interpretation of Rachmaninov has changed a lot over the years.”
