Выпуском альбома "Wrote A Song For Everyone" легенда рок-музыки Джон Фогерти отмечает свой дебют на лейбле Columbia Records, принадлежащем Sony Music.

В лонгплей, состоящий из четырнадцати песен, вошла новая запись классической песни "Born On The Bayou" с Кидом Роком. Помимо совместной работы с Кид Роком, "Wrote A Song For Everyone" содержит еще одиннадцать классических песен из песенника Фогерти, которые были перезаписаны с Foo Fighters, Бобом Сегером, Китом Урбаном, Дженнифер Хадсон, Кид Роком, Брэдом Пейсли, Zac Brown Band, My Morning Jacket, Аланом Джексоном, Мирандой Ламберт и другими. Но он также перезаписал одну из своих песен с получившей широкое признание новой группой Dawes, в музыке которой влияние бывшего руководителя Creedence Clearwater Revival несомненно: "Someday Never Comes".

Вместе со своими сыновьями Шейном и Тайлером Фогерти в лондонской студии Abbey Road была записана версия классической песни CCR "Lodi" 1969 года. Помимо таких знаковых рок-композиций, как "Have You Ever Seen the Rain", "Who'll Stop the Rain" и "Proud Mary", "Mystic Highway" и "Train of Fools" на "Wrote A Song For Everyone" представлены две совершенно новые работы. Впечатляющий во всех отношениях альбом!

The root of this album goes right back to a Kurt Wagner show in Manchester. It was the quietest yet the most powerful live performance I had ever seen and afterwards I carried Kurt's guitar to the car for him. I took the chance to ask him if he would ever consider writing a song with me. "Sure Tim, you write the music and I'll write the words". That one song turned into an album and almost ten year's after we first talked about it, the album is ready and it's called Oh No I Love You Kurt gave me the number of producer Mark Nevers in Nashville. He said Mark's studio, The Beech House was the perfect place to record. We got together members of Lambchop, Clem Snide, My Morning Jacket. We used strings, brass and a gospel choir. Chris Scruggs, grandson of the legendary Earl Scruggs came and played on a couple of songs and lo fi legend R Stevie Moore stopped by and we recorded a track in one take. A piano, a guitar, a voice. Nothing else. Evoking the minimalism of Steve Reich and the nightly darkness of Tom Waits, Bernat SØnchez (piano) practically turns into the main character of this recording. After a full campaign of concerts as Eric Fuentes & El Mal Menor, the pair formed by Bernat and Eric have covered the country from top to bottom performing songs from EricOs last 3 albums (ODescarrilantO(1997), OBah'a Para'soO (2008) and OEric Fuentes & El MalO (2011), and from heOs earlier 5 albums as The Unfinished Sympathy. The revision of theses songs bought them to the creation of new ones, and this is how Eric and Bernat came to closing themselves in the recording studio to record 10 new songs with a clear vocation, to limit themselves instrument wise: to make an album without percussion, restricted, from the melodic and harmonic possibilities, to the rhythmic possibilities of the piano, guitar and vocals, of this duet, that has so nicely formed between these two musical adventurers. This new collection of songs (including a cover version of OIt was a good yearO made popular by Frank Sinatra), surprises not only for its austere performance, but for itOs shuddering intensity, that different from so many other minimally orchestrated albums, this album provokes. The key? To use the left hand of the piano to create the rhythmic base, interacting with the harmonic right hand and the rhythmic of the electric guitar. This, together with their sinuous vocal melodies, creates a groovy, atmospheric and emotional ensemble, that drinks from the likes of John Cage, Prefab Sprout or Robert Wyatt. So, after the well accepted OEric Fuentes & El MalO (that completely wiped out fears that the ex - The Unfinished SympathyOs energy would disappear with the dissolution of the band) Eric goes ahead and bets for a completely new musical speech, even though you can still recognize the strong personality from heOs growing discography. Turning into a mix between a crooner and a hard-core Singer, at the live performances Eric will count with Bernat at the piano and with the recently integrated Joan Thelorious (member of Tokyo Sex Destruction) at the guitar. The band will present the album all through 2013 with a warm and close staging, where craftsmanship mixes up with real passion.

The new Loyd Cole album Standards is arguably the best thing he has made since his groundbreaking debut with the band the Commotions, 1984’s Rattlesnakes. For the last 10 years Lloyd has pursued a quieter path not least on his last album 2010’s folk-country-styled Broken Record. Where that fine album presents the acoustic, wooden Lloyd, his new album Standards is gleamingly, brazenly electric. Never more than on Standards, electric Lloyd has always tapped into New York rock’s electricity grid, from Dylan ‘65 through Television ’77 to Lou Reed’s high-tension ‘80s classics The Blue Mask and New York. Playing drums on the last-named, Fred Maher is reunited for Standards with bassist Matthew Sweet to form the rhythm section that kept time on Lloyd’s debut solo album 1990’s ‘Lloyd Cole’ and its follow up ‘91’s ‘Don’t Get Weird On Me Babe’. With Joan (As Police Woman) Wasser on piano/backing vocals, and Lloyd not only singing but playing synths amidst some of the crispest, stormiest, most stinging electric guitar, it’s a tight ship with a tight sound which tautens and relaxes according to the temper of the song.
