Brothers Jared and Michael Bell have been making music together as Lymbyc Systym since 2004. On their new album Split Stones they explore the power of disparate halves coming together to form a unique whole. The idea serves as an analogy for Jared and Mike's relationship, Lymbyc's sound, and the mind/body dichotomy. Recorded largely in their respective home studios, the duo went to Dallas to track live drums at Elmwood Recording, where they mixed their previous albums Shutter Release and Field Studies with John Congleton. The album opens with "Generated Bodies", a song that starts as a colossal instrumental rock track, but quickly evolves into spirals of chordal synths and electronic beats, mirroring the band's metamorphosis over the past decade. Other songs like "Split Stones" and "Pulses" find the band experimenting with longer cinematic song structures, leaving behind the short "pop" song structures they've delivered on previous albums. The album veers into full on dance mode on "Paraboloid" before things wind down with the sunny groove of album closer "Scientific Romance".

Service Industry extends the tensions begun with Lushes' debut album, What Am I Doing. In their first album, the themes of anxiety were often held back in pursuit of serene moments, brief escapes from our mundane lives. With Service Industry, Lushes give you something more raw, more guitar-and-drum driven, more primal. The album throws a wrench in things. It stands as a map of a crisis, a bleak and gorgeous snapshot of our world, and a question: why continue living like we do?

Beneath the surface of the UK lies a vast and secret network of abandoned nuclear bunkers. Sometime in the future the population of Great Britain has retreated into these bunkers. The reason for this exodus is not clear. Nuclear attack? Chemical attack? Germ warfare? Or perhaps even free will. What is known is that beneath the surface, in the bunkers, people live the utopian dream, communicating wordlessly via a highly developed new subconsciousness. There is no need for money and food is plentiful. The old gods have been forgotten. People now offer prayer to a piece of silverware, referred to as the ‘New Pagan Sun’, found in a bunker at Stoke on Trent, near to the location of the 1980 Darts World Championship final between Eric Bristow and Bobby George. British Nuclear Bunkers is the new album by Luke Haines. It was recorded using entirely analogue synthesisers. It’s hard to believe that the Trio from Berlin is a new band since the bass player's name is Mammut and as an ex-member of the band Kadavar, he has kind of been taking part at Berlin's music scene forever since. Music wise THE LORANES have nothing to do with his last band, except that they are also into vintage stuff. It’s about Rock music – you can find their sound somewhere between Garage-Rock, Neo-Heavy-Blues and Psychedelic. But besides all the heavy distortion, the melodies are what gets stuck in your head, like one of those songs you won't ever get rid of. Scary Pop, dark and rough. THE LORANES met about one year ago in october 2014. In spring 2015 they released their first 7” vinyl. Lots of gigs followed until now. In October THE LORANES will release their first album „Trust“ which was recorded and produced by themselves and will be released on Noisolution Records. It’s fuzzy, rough and literally smells like basement and glowing tube amps! No wonder the label decided to send them on a Europe Tour to support the Picturebooks.

Following the lead single 'Dancing Star' co-produced with Tom Furse of The Horrors, described by Thump as "the perfect cosmic jam", LILIES ON MARS announce their full length album "AGO". Born and raised in Sardinia, a magical island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, a place that recalls mystical legends and the strength of a population that has fought throughout history to keep traditions alive and never be fully conquered, Lisa and Marina moved to London 13 years ago. Sometime later Lilies on Mars emerged, the result of many long nights spent listening to music and jamming with every imaginable instrument at their home studio in Hackney, from guitars to vintage organs, synthesizers, effects and drum machines. The contrast of living between these two places has had a profound effect on Lilies on Mars' music. It became a way to navigate their experience, gently incorporating all the information that inspired them, becoming notes and melodies but more precisely a sound. Delicate, surreal and sometimes disturbing, like a lily growing on a red planet. This is the imagery within which they are suspended, where time does not exist. Collaborations with Italian pop experimentalist Franco Battiato also dramatically influenced and inspired the project in its early stages. Lisa and Marina began writing "AGO" immediately after returning from an extensive tour of Europe and America. Filled with inspiration, excitement and with overwhelming changes in their lives post tour, they searched for shelter at Lisa's beach house in Sardinia. Here they set up a studio and found the perfect space and freedom needed to create and experiment with new sounds. All songs on "AGO" were written from edited improvisations and immediately recorded, whilst post production is also a key element in the whole creative process. Retro-futurist, psychedelic and cosmic pop elements are accentuated on this record. At times uplifting, at times drone- and Kraut-like.

Hierophants are an original rock and roll group in 2015, and their songs are brief, to the point, every one a potential hit single. Hierophants are not an oldies group, they are not a glitter group, they don’t play boogie music and they don’t play the blues. The Australian quartet consists of Zak Olsen, Daff Gravolin, Paris Richens and Jake Robertson. They started in 2010 when Olsen moved from the coast north of Sydney down to Geelong and found himself hanging out with a bunch of teenage, paisley-clad skaters who swapped their Vans for boots at night, snuck into the pubs and started a dozen bands. Olsen and Robertson did some recordings one weekend, asked the two best-looking people they know to join them live, and the four have been writing songs altogether ever since. Olsen, the guitarist, rocks with such free-spirited abandon that his sound has been compared to Lou Reed donking Mark Mothersbaugh over the head with his guitar. Richens, the keyboardist, is an arch villain whose diminutive frame stands aloof left (or right) of stage. Gravolin plays bass and is the acknowledged handsome one of the group, while Robertson is the drummer whose chimp-like playing underpins the band’s simian sound. Hierophants mostly originate from Geelong and kids who grew up there either became musicians, college students or surfers. Parallax Error is a little of each and its sound is not unlike throwing one’s calculator in the ocean.

Elsewhere, ,Hop The Railings" takes the powerfully propul-sive groove of Can and cross-pollinates it with Beefheartian interweaving triple-guitar skronk to make a heat-haze-dwelling jugger-naut of intimidating proportions, whilst the closing double-drop of ,Hesitation Time" and ,Honey" hits like Joy Division repurposed for the soundtrack to True Detective.

The robust 90s future pop sound of these odd fellow heavyweights fits Temple like a sequin glove. You can hear how these songs likely began as Temple's bedroom folk riffs, but where they ultimately end up - here with the help of longtime HWGM collaborator and multi-instrumentalist Michael Bloch, as well as Austin Vaughn on drums - is near-transcendent and celestial.

Chris Forsyth & Koen Holtkamp have earned reputations as fierce, creative artists and respected masters of their instruments (guitar & synthesizers, respectively). "The Island" is the 2nd collaborative album from these Philadelphia and Brooklyn-based musicians. Rehearsals for the sessions amounted to a couple of days drinking wine, cooking, and hanging out on the beach at the Jersey Shore, and the rhythm and motion of the water seems to have had an undeniable effect on the sessions. The result is an album that despite the freewheeling nature of it's origins, sounds thoroughly composed & song-oriented. Songs like "Long Beach Idyll" and "Cosmic Richard" fuse Forsyth's desert-dusted guitar & Holtkamp's cascading electronics into airy, blissful meditations afloat on an endless ocean, while "Sun Blind" and "Alternator" crackle with intensity, with both musicians seemingly coaxing each other towards something new and primal.
