Cities of Light is F.E. Dennings vinyl debut and it is his best work to date. The compositions aswell as the emotions are more complex than before and with his signature of endless pools of synth drones and melodies cascading on each other, he draws out a perfectly paranoid image of a modern metropolis. The equal measures of beauty and horror that occupy the modern sleepless machine cities, is presented in a blurred narrative over the records five pieces. Cities of Light feels neither for or against the concept of mega city that it displays, the record feels more like someone accepting the state of things, accepting that soon the sunrise will be broadcasted on billboards because of smog layers. Accepting that even with millions and millions of people there are no familiar faces appearing in the masses. That the city has become an organism of its own and that any fighting against it has already been intergrated in its system. Cities of Light is a beautiful and cinematic drone record, a new level for the work of F. E. Denning and a very precise portray of how it feels to be alone with millions around you.

Yannick Dauby is a sound artist based in Taiwan since 2007. He relentless explores the soundscapes of his adopted island through field recording, audio documentaries and community projects He has created soundtracks and sound environments for contemporary dance, public art and films as well as being involved in various ecological and local traditional activities. Dauby stayed in Peng-Hu, an archipelago located in the Taiwan strait during several months in the first half of 2013. His daily activities included beachcombing, study and documentation of the reef animals, field recording, some teaching and also composing musique concrète in a temporary and probably the first experimental music studio,. From this old building he could hear the seashores and announcements of the itinerant sellers as well as the rituals from a temple nearby. Immersed in this environment, Yannick composed the two sides of this record, using the sounds of the underwater fauna, the omnipresent waves, soundscapes of harbours, music played during funerals, shortwave radio broadcasts, in-site or indoor improvisations using old artefacts and various sessions using analog electronic instruments

S. Carey is the project of Sean Carey of Bon Iver. Recorded primarily during the perigee-syzygy (also known as the super moon) of August 2014, the Supermoon EP from S. Carey is a study in scale, space, and proximity. These songs are a new and closer look into existing works from both S. Carey's renowned full-lengths, 2010's All We Grow and 2014's Range of Light. With Supermoon, Carey has broken these songs down to their essential, acoustic parts with his forever humming vocals laid over top, lilting yet percussive piano, and a subtle swath of harmonic strings. You can hear Carey's breath between words and the pat of his fingers on the keys;
you can hear the living room in which his family's baby grand piano sits. These songs are beautiful, intimate and so potently personal. This collection is a stark presentation of S. Carey laid bare, an open invitation for the listener to climb into his world. One particularly poignant piece is the re-imagined Range of Light closer, "Neverending Fountain," perhaps an apt metaphor for the life of the songs themselves. Says Carey, "The longer you spend with a song, the more you can see it in its pure form." Supermoon also features a heartrending cover of "Bullet Proof.. I Wish I Was" from Radiohead's classic album The Bends, and a new song, the EP's namesake, "Supermoon," which takes its inspiration, like much of Carey's work, from the natural world around him. Another source of inspiration quoted by Carey is the excitement of working out arrangements for pre-existing songs on the spot, for various sessions on tour. He brought that spirit to the recording of Supermoon, which took place over the course of a single weekend. Already known as an artist of impeccable craft, S. Carey worked with long-time friends and collaborators (Mike Noyce played viola, Zach Hanson engineered, mixed, and mastered) to add a chapter to the still unfolding story of Sean Carey as an artist. Although his lack of touring kept him from being established as a major figure in overground reggae circles, Linval Thompson's work as a singer, songwriter and producer is essential to Jamaican music. Between 1977 and 1979, he released five solo albums and produced countless artists on the side. Thompson acted as a mentor to many up-and-comers, including Junjo Lawes, Scientist, and Eek-AMouse. As dancehall became more prominent in the late 1970s, Thompson began to offer up his rhythms to sound system deejays. The mysterious deejay LP, Bunny Lion Red was originally released on London's Starlight records in 1979. Little was written about the album at the time;
however, we have uncovered that Bunny Lion is in fact the legendary Puddy Roots of Killamanjaro Soundsystem fame. Red features ten grooving Thompson Sound rhythms voiced by Puddy. Apologia is the 'lost' first solo guitar recording by James from 2003, which self-released on CD-R in an edition of 30. Now released on vinyl in a limited edition of 500. "pologia' was written on a cheap Yamaha guitar with a ridiculously high action over the course a couple of months in 2002 and recorded in February 2003, a few months before I picked up a 12-string guitar for the first time and wrote and recorded my first release, eleste'. I'd just started fingerpicking and had gotten comfortable enough with some techniques to experiment with open tunings of my own devising and write my own compositions, which were at that time very inspired by the musicians I adored - John Fahey, Robbie Basho and lots of old country blues players like Mississippi John Hurt, Blind Blake and Reverend Gary Davis. I burned about 30 CD-Rs with homemade covers in jewel cases, gave most to friends and family and sold a few in the record shop I used to work in Soho. I felt for some time afterward like I was only just starting to find my own voice with pologia' - the songs are shorter and more straightforward and the cyclical structures and appreciation of drones and overtones really came to the fore later on, as did my appreciation of adding other instrumentation and experimenting with sounds generally. Plus, I wasn't entirely happy with the sound of the recording (some small EQ changes and reverb was added for this edition) and let's just say the situation in the studio was far from ideal, but that's another story. For that reason, I never chose to reissue pologia'. Now, almost 12 years later, I'm hearing them in a different way, realising the songs' charms rather than simply concentrating on the flaws. It doesn't sound quite like anything I've ever done since and there's a simplicity and raw energy about them that I've grown to appreciate. It's an interesting snapshot of where I was then and how things have changed. It is an absolute pleasure for me to work with Bladud Flies! to release pologia' as a limited edition LP now - something I would never have dreamed of back in 2003." - James Blackshaw

Arv & Miljö is the solo guise of Matthias Andersson who through the last 10+ years have been a key figure in scandinavian underground music, first with his now defunct Release the Bats label and mailorder, later with the multifaced collective, venue and label Utmarken, his zine fordämningen, his different projects, Källarbarnen, Heinz hopf etc. Kropp is Arv & Miljös first LP and compared to alot of the earlier works it is quite different, there is less noise now, the sounds are more precise. The distortions are left out, Kropp is a self study in Matthias Anderssons condition and his recovery from when he was diagnosed with SDAVF a few years ago. Facing a possible future in a wheelchair, the larger part of Kropp is done entirely of fieldrecordings from countless hospital visits. "The initial first few minutes you will hear on the album were recorded when I was stuck in a hospital bed, paralyzed from the waist down with no idea on what was going on with my body. Without going into details about what happened, 'Kropp' essentially deals with before and after moments in life. That moment when everything changes. Last year Posh Isolation released Vanessa Amara's debut Both of Us on tape, now we present it for the first time on vinyl accompanied by its sister recording from the year before, King Machine. Vanessa Amara is the work of Birk Gjerlufsen Nielsen accompanied by his friend and long time collaborator Victor Kjellerup Juhl and is one of the strongest new voices in danish experimental music. There is eminent beauty in the work of Vanessa Amara, beauty that few people manage to reach in their work. The fragile and romantic compositions of synth, organ, piano, percussive tape loops and guitar holds an incredible feeling of urgency and a wonderful originality. Both of us and King Machine share alot of feeling and approach and yet they are different. Like two different offerings to the same alter or the different heart beats of two young men dueling over one girl. In an interview with Distort magazine Birk Gjerlufsson says about the recording of Both of Us. "I recorded the music in the Winter of 2012-2013 with help from my closest friend in a small summer house by the sea, in the north of Sjælland.

heavy drum machine rhythms, pumping melodic bass lines, swaths of atmospheric guitars and cold synth melodies, but where many bands are content to wallow in the shadows of their influences, All Your Sisters sounds like the future. "One thing is for sure: their sound is pretty unique and I'm even doubting if Post-punk is a good description as Post-Gothic or Post-Wave could make it too. The voice is a bit special, indeed sounds like as if recorded in a cold cave, a dreaming cold synth sound and sometimes reminding me of The Cure versus Siglo XX & old school Clan of Xymox. We only get 10 tracks, lasting about 35 minutes. I wanted more but that's it. Keep track of them, they will be back (maybe even on stage).

That's the most intense fear and feeling-when you go to a show and you're actually scared," says frontman Oliver Ackermann, guitarist and frontman of Brooklyn trio A PLACE TO BURY STRANGERS. "Or you can palpably feel the danger in the music," adds bassit Lunadon, "Like it's going to fall apart at any moment and the players doing it are so in the moment they don't give a shit about anything else. They're just going for it. It's a gutter kinda vibe;
everything about it is icky and evil and dangerous." The same could be said for A PLACE TO BURY STRANGERS' fourth album, "Transfixiation". Rather than fixate on precious recording techniques and minute details like they may have done in the past, the group, rounded out by drummer Robi Gonzalez, trust their instincts and try to keep things as pure as possible. Music is much more exhilarating when it's unpredictable even on repeat plays. Gonzalez makes his recording debut with the band here, and it's obvious that he's helped pushed the band's recordings closer to the level of their infamous live shows. From the tortured straight-to-tape transmission of "I Will Die" and molten funk melodies of "Straight" to the violent guitar spasms, cannon-like drums and not-so-idle threats of "Deeper," this is very much an unpredictable record. "The one thing we have in common is this fire when we're playing," says Gonzalez. "I don't know;
it's real intense." "It's not rocket science," says Lunadon, "but rock 'n' roll shouldn't be. When you start to do bluesy scales or try to be too fancy, it doesn't work for us. You gotta keep it simple and rock it fucking hard."

Johnny Winter And is the fourth studio album by Texas Blues guitarist Johnny Winter, released in 1970. It was also the name of his band for a short time. After two late-'60s albums on Columbia, Johnny Winter hit his stride in 1970 working with Rick Derringer and the McCoys, now recruited as his sidemen and collaborators (and proving with just about every note here how far they'd gotten past "Hang On Sloopy"). In place of the bluesy focus on his first two albums, Winter extended himself into more of a Rock-oriented mode here, in both his singing and his selection of material. This was Hard Rock with a Blues edge, and had a certain commercial smoothness lacking in his earlier work. Derringer's presence on guitar and as a songwriter saw to it that Winter's blues virtuosity was balanced by perfectly placed guitar hooks, and the two guitarists complemented each other perfectly throughout as well. There isn't a weak moment anywhere on the record, and if Johnny Winter And wasn't a commercial success, it was mostly because of the huge amount of competition at the time from other, equally inspired players, that kept numbers like the Winter originals "Prodigal Son" and "Guess I'll Go Away" as well as Derringer co-authored pieces such as "Look Up" from having the impact they should have had on FM radio
